  • Momirovski to ESL

Unsure if it has already been mentioned anywhere, apologies if it has but it looks like Momirovski is getting an immediate release to head to the Leeds Rhinos in the English Super League.

Will free up some cap and realistically he wasn’t going to get much of a run with some of the depth now built in the outside backs. Yet to be confirmed by the club but hopefully it comes to fruition and all the best to him.

Probably means Corey Allan may get an extension for 2024?

There is still no word on whether Billy Smith and Connor Watson will re-sign or have re-signed.

Coach Robinson at the Jack Gibson Medal Awards night mentioned players that were leaving and others that could be leaving pending the outcome of contract negotiations.

I think the club will survive. Give Allen another year. He covers the backline well and won’t let us down.

Yea I saw this all I can say is thank god for that
one of the most incompetent, uninspiring and lack of confidence players I have seen
would have only played res all year unless a mass injury toll
we have toia, pauga, maybe Allen again so don’t need Momo

Billy Smith is yet to be re-signed. The money may be used for him. From memory I think he signed on $300K/year.

He let us down in the Melbourne game by giving away 2 daft penalties at key times in the game.

Good luck over there Momo. I was certain that Billy Smith had already been re-signed. Wasn't it already announced?

Similar to Connor Watson aswell, although i'd be less sad if he went given the emergence of Sandon as the 14.

Paul was obviously rated by Premiership-winning coaches Cleary and Robinson, so a tad harsh to dismiss him as a player, as after all, he was a regular in the Penrith side that won the competition in 2021.

No idea where it's gone wrong for Momirovski, burst onto the scene and looked great

Then couldn't crack 1st grade much at both Tigers or Storm
Looked great again at the Panthers...although anyone probably could
Then struggled in 1st grade again with us

By this form history he should go well at his next club in the ESL

For a "noted defender" he is pretty terrible at tackling...

Think you nailed it all.. his one on one general tackling was very poor. He could make decent reads in defence but was just clumsy and often slipped off regulation tackles.

Seemed to struggle against the smaller stockier powerful built centres going high and getting fended off
couldn’t catch a ball either from a pass or high kick
every time the ball went his way you would cover your eyes
