I like our club having long term players who made their first grade debuts with us.
Both played junior footy with us from the age of 18.
Nat has been with us since 2015 and Egan since 2018 and still have plenty of upside,
Nat is 26 and Egan 23, they both average 90 metres per game.
I have no idea what they are on, but I do feel they bleed Red White and Blue.

To me he is a bench middle, that brings leg speed when fatigue is starting to set in. He is too small to start in the middle and makes too many errors in contact playing on the edge running those lead lines. He is best when given early ball straight off the ruck plus I think he has a nice pre line pass we don’t see when he is parked on an edge. Defending in the middle just simplifies his role too. Just my opinion.

But yes, clubs will come knocking offering more game time and dollars and it will be hard to keep them both.
Agree. Although half our team wasn't used right this year. Hopefully we try and keep all our current squad (except those promised to the dogs)before thinking about players like KK. KK had a blinder at the stadium opening, but was a slob against us recently.

Nat will play SOO like Guerra did but he's no Boyd Cordner.

Nat is a toiler. Every great team needs a good toiler!

Yeah, I actually rate KK quite a bit but would prefer we retain our current crop is all. Sitili is a gun if he can have an injury free run and Wong has a bright future also.

They are good players but will be interesting to see where they fit next season
a full fit squad and of in form Gus and sitili are better players with higher ceilings
then with radley at 13 and Wong in ghe 17 with Whyte in the mix (with may and Leniu other bench options) then may not make the best 17 next season

still think Gus will go which will leave 1 spot open

You are such a dribbler click batesy, it is almost beyond belief. Like clockwork, you realize the idiocy of what you post, then you back away from it, one dumb post at a time.

You celebrate none of our players or even the team. You post nothing of interest, ever. All you want to do is be ultra negative or post 1000 new threads about "we should buy this guy blah blah blah!"

              You're pretty pathetic bro.

I find Nat incredibly undervalued by a lot of the Pen and the league in general.

I like to call him a "Melbourne Storm" kind of player. Not very sexy in terms of flair, but he's one of those forwards who has insanely good defence, makes his tackles, wins the wrestle a lot and rarely makes an error. He actually has shown patches of good hole running aswell in attack. Sure he isn't super dynamic but he's just so solid and tries hard. Good on him for getting some recognition, hopefully he can jag a rep cap. Definitely has potential to be a career Rooster.

In terms of Egan, I think he has far more upside than Nat, seems to be more naturally talented but has probably gone backwards playing on an edge at the start of the year and then is too undersized to be a starting prop. He is a good bench forward with quick feet through the middle. Showed patches of being an amazing player for us towards the end of 2021 and start of 2022 and hasn't quite kicked on with it. Surprisingly though we have signed Leniu, who is similar, so I'm not sure what role he plays next year.

This love affair that you have with Nat the toiler is distorting your judgment and making you lash out once again.

I apologise if I hurt your feelings.

What do you call a back rower that can’t offload or ballplay. Has zero footwork and couldn’t find a hole if it was painted fluro green?

One of the criticisms of Boyd Cordner was that he had no passing, ball-playing, or offloading game, which was a contributing factor to the number of head knocks he suffered. The all-or-nothing charges at the D line took their toll.

Nat Butcher does have a passing ball-playing and offloading game, which one would have seen when watching him play NYC, which should be used much more often than it is.

Yeah what watching poddies has taught me is that people who've played/coached NRL see a lot of stuff that fans are oblivious to.

Wish I knew more but I figure I'd basically have to have played NRL to know the fine details. The game's super technical these days and there's a fark load of work done off the ball.

All I see is the game through a fan's narrow lens. Even then, it's apparent that Butcher is a leader on the field who is highly regarded within footy circles. Definitely not a tyre kicker...

Aiden Guerra was a great player for us the criticism of him is stupid and shows a lack of rugby league knowledge.

Memory somewhat hazy but I recall Aidan Guerra being our best player in 2014. The only member of our GF winning team to equal or outperform that astonishing 2013 campaign.

Edge or middle. Just an awesome footy player in his prime.

Mitchell Pearce was far and away the best player that season but Aiden Guerra was very consistent across those three minor premiership seasons.

Egan Scissorhands just needs to stop lubricating his hands before every game.

He hasn't kicked on... yet. The HIAs don't help. Nor does the constant chopping and changing of positions; necessitated largely by our hospital wing of the training facility.

At full strength for rnd 1 I'm not sure he gets in the 17. Not to worry. He'll get a crack by rnd 2 though...
