I’d hate to see Nat ever wear any other jersey than the RWB, and I’m sure other clubs would be ready to throw offers at him after Nov 1. I’d rather have Egan go to another club as long as we keep Nat. It could be a case like the Minichellos, we kept the good 1 and let the other go.

I like both to be fair. I just think we don’t use Egan right.
To me he is a bench middle, that brings leg speed when fatigue is starting to set in. He is too small to start in the middle and makes too many errors in contact playing on the edge running those lead lines. He is best when given early ball straight off the ruck plus I think he has a nice pre line pass we don’t see when he is parked on an edge. Defending in the middle just simplifies his role too. Just my opinion.
But yes, clubs will come knocking offering more game time and dollars and it will be hard to keep them both.Last edited by Qld Chook; 09-20-2023, 01:42 PM.

I like them both but if I had to keep one, it's Nat !
One can go back in time and check my posts. When people were hating on Nat, I said that he's showing all the right signs that (like Cords) he's destined to play rep footy one day and possibly captain our club.
There's a reason why Souffs kicked all of our feeders outta their stupid juniors comp when we signed Butcher. Highly doubt we'd let him go without a fight (or that he'd wanna go unless offered crazy money). Fark Souffs are petty BTW!!! Oh yeah... Coogee, Randwick, Kensington, Maroubra, MALABAR...etc. Yeah you own all the kids from there. Got it. None of them live in the eastern suburbs or support Easts ya farking morons! Calling a comp 'south' doesn't mean shyte :P
Push come to shove, I think the question is now whether we'd release Crichton if we had to choose between the two.

Cant cop Nat. He only looks ok when we are dominating...otherwise he is stopped in his tracks on most carries. He is fit as and makes his tackles, so i can cop.him as a bench forward at best on a very modest contract. I think Egan is the better of the two as a bench forward playing about 30min..but he does have some errors in his game. I'd be happy for both to leave, I'd hate to pay overs to keep either of them

This is how I rate him against 2 former Roosters that played on an edge.
Boyd Cordner - 9/10
SBW - 9/10
Nat Butcher - 6/10
He is our modern day Aiden Guerra.

Both Nat and Egan won't be going anywhere. Nat is starting to show the player he can be and Egan, who is only 23 has a massive future. Both these boys and their families love the Roosters and the people that matter at the club think the world of them.

With Nat Butcher selected in the Kangaroos training squad, surely he must be in the mix for SOO next year as well.
Egan Butcher is only 48 games into his NRL career and has his best footy still in front of him
While others succumbed to injury, the Butcher Brothers were one of the few constants in playing the majority of games this season.
