Whilst we might have plenty of backrowers, none play like he does in attack. I'd love to have him.

But there is no way Souths let him go.

As much as most on here think Nat Butcher is the 2nd coming of Christ, I think he should be played off the bench next year. He’s become a regular starter over the last couple of years due to our unbelievable injury toll and suspensions (Victor/Jared). Nat’s a really good toiler, but in my opinion he isn’t as good as either Sitili or Wong and never will be. That doesn’t mean I don’t support him as a Roosters player, I just think the other guys offer a lot more. Egan on the other hand w should only see 1st grade again through injury.
They are good players but will be interesting to see where they fit next season
a full fit squad and of in form Gus and sitili are better players with higher ceilings
then with radley at 13 and Wong in ghe 17 with Whyte in the mix (with may and Leniu other bench options) then may not make the best 17 next season

still think Gus will go which will leave 1 spot open

$900k in 2025 will be more or less like paying $700k for a player this season.
Absolutely, 900k isn't what it used to be. 900k represented as a percentage of the 2025 total salary cap is 6.92%

2018 Salary cap was 9.1m so this salary at 6.92% would've been $650,480
2013 Salary cap was 5.85m so this salary at 6.92% would've been $404,820
2008 salary cap was 4m so this salary at 6.92% would've been $276,800

I understand this is not an exact science as there's so many nuances that go into a salary cap like development contracts, squad size, long service discounts etc. but it hopefully shows that a 900k salary is just the new norm for good forwards.

          Can’t pay him $900k. I prefer Sitili.

If Sitili performs as per expectations, he will also be commanding around $900k when he comes off contract next season.

Market forces influence a players value.

I think none of our second rowers are commanding 900k a season so their slightly lower output is justified. The closest to that pay packet is Angus, who's contribution for the money in recent seasons has been laughable.

                No.

                I'd rather keep Keary.

But the odds of a retirement at the end of 2024 are very high.

I’ve always thought Sitilli is the he best backrower the Chooks have & if he is fit he’s in my side every day of the week along with KK.

I’ll leave the valuing up to the club but I’d be stoked to get him. Bunnies be mad to lose him.

I can't ever see NButch not being in the team even if we do get K. How good will Whyte be in 2025?
For that reason and some other good younguns coming through in the next couple of years I think it is all fabricated BS.
