If he wants 800k a season then I have to agree

There's still a big chance that SBW will be coming with the cap increase next year. It was stated at the start of the year we were playing under the cap. Now with Anasta gone next year it frees up more cap space. You would think most of Mini's wage next year would be under the long service cap!

With Cherro about to resume playing (fingers crossed), you could potentially be throwing his name into the mix as well ?

I like all these players and glad to for them to re-sign but something in the back of my mind asks whether we're signing mediocre players. I would like a big name which may lift those young guys to improve on performance much like a Lockyear would do. With such a lame cap, I hope we're not putting all our trust on what may happen next year of the years following just because they play well as 19 or 20yo's. I wouldn't mind SBW as long as he comes to play and not create havoc but only he would know that.

If we can somehow fit SBW in with everyone else (seeing as most forwards are already signed up for at least next year), then that will be the ICING ON THE CAKE. He's a machine that will improve any team in the world dramatically, let's not kid ourselves. Imagine seeing our up and coming forwards playing with SBW.. immense.

My initial excitment at having SBW at the club next year has waned significantly to the point if he doesn't come...meh.

                  Chook.

The players we have retained may have come reasonably cheaply considering there was no real interest shown from any other club. None were probably over the 200k mark. only JWH seemed to be a bit of a tug-o-war. Plenty of cash for a big name signing left i reckon.

These guys apart from JWH would not have cost 5 cents

Guerra has played less than 30 games

We have a lot of free space after our cleanout.

If SBW wants to play NRL we will still be able to make him an offer. Whether the NRL will be able to get the other Clubs to agree to letting him make a million bucks a year in the ring outside of footy is a different story

He will be a machine in either sport. Do you think he'll come back and suddenly be crap? He's got more natural and physical talent then most players can dream of.

about 6 weeks ago there were whispers starting to emerge of problems with the negotiations of SBW's contract to join the Roosters, I wonder if it was his reluctance to give up boxing or bigger money offer from other parties.
I disagree. SBW still needs 16 team mates.

Then why couldn't he make the All Blacks starting side at the World Cup?

He obviously won't be crap but he won't be worth the money Uncle Nick will blow on him either
