  • The pain is still there.

I watched the replay again last night - hoping that the result would be different.

    Alas, it wasn't.

Nor could I find a 'what if' moment in the lead up to their try (other than what if we had a taller winger out there?).

This pain is cutting deeper now.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

I've never felt less pain in a Semi Final loss. Certainly not because i dont care. We would have got absolutely pumped by the Panthers this week and having a heap of mates that follow the Riff this was the less painful result. The effort has been there the last 2 months but i still didn't see us play much quality football that could trouble Penrith or the Broncs

I felt gutted directly after the game however I think I've recovered. Our turn around in form was outstanding only to be cruelled by injuries. I'm proud of the boys!

Klein has once again butchered another game and result for us. The bloke is an embarrassment to the NRL.

Last years loss to Souffs hurt for months!

Every time you hurt just think about what Penrith would have done to us this week. We were never getting past the prelim. They don't make mistakes. They are in the form we were in the 2018 finals. Unbeatable.

The main thing I can't get over is Paulo being INFRONT of Wong. WTF, how does that happen, what a cluster. We are away, at least to the halfway, if he was doing what he was supposed to be doing. Totally inexcusable.

Hurt how we lost. Still pissed off at the knock on and how some are trying to justify it with the non-penalty to the milker at the end.

But we would have only got Suaalii back against the Panthers so that might have hurt more.

Didn't watch a game on the weekend. Probably won't watch a game until the GF. Go the Wahs.

              Onto next year.

That's definitely a 'what-if' moment. Not too many players in front of him after that. Paulo is shocking. How can you be that tall and big and be terrible in the air and in hitups.

What if Suaali played? What if our amateur doctor didn't rule him out with a Cat3 HIA instead another injury, enabling to possibly recover for the game instead leaving it to the NRL to rule him out a day after the match??

Even if Paulo was behind, the pass was shyte and unnecessary. My 'what if' moment is well... why push the ball out to your winger inside your 20, early in the tackle count with ~3 minutes to go?

Does this make Wong a shyte player? No. S*x that we chose the wrong play but it happens.

Basically everything went the right way for the Drizz with ~4 minutes to go. Unfortunate as we were ahead and lacked the skills to close the deal after what was otherwise a VERY gutsy effort.

Seeing Harry Grant crying his widdle eyeballs out when he didn't get awarded a kick at goal from right in front (which he probably woulda gratuitously taken so that he could be the superhero after giving Meaney all the difficult ones) said it all to me. The Storm were mentally beaten and no doubt feel very lucky to have won that one.

This! The loss hurt, but not because of the conventional way. Given all our outs, I could cop loss to the storm.

But copping a loss with Klowns fingerprints was a very bitter, bitter pill to swallow. Worst of all, alot of us forecasted it, and he proved us right. That’s what stung me so much. Plus he will likely be reffing the next two weeks aswell so won’t see any accountability for his incompetence.

the pain's still there. we'd have been long odds to beat panthers and, who knows maybe the warriors to win the comp but there will be a day when a team wins the comp from outside the top 4.
yeah, the pain's still there but this wouldn't be in the top 10 of painful exits from a season

The difference between a win and a loss was that try from the knock on. Appalling and disgusting how Klein is still refereeing after disgracefully stuffing up a finals game. It exposes the gutter quality refereeing which the NRL contents itself with.
