Not sure if he retired from rep footy but if he did I hope the NRL say he can't use rep games as part of his suspension.

Got to say my sentiment around JWH's eligibility to play in the Las Vegas game is a whole bunch of shits not given.

He was selfish and stupid for what he did, whatever comes his way is well deserved.

He's still a club legend though and I'll always love him for what he's done for our club, just his recent dummy spit is still a little raw in the memory bank.

The answer is that you can miss NRL games if pinged during an international. Happens. They also lose some serious money as a result of not playing internationals so there's double/triple jeopardy going on here over a BS incident that would normally be fine only (or TBH ignored with no penalty being applied 9/10 times).

IMO the issue here is that the NRL were (for whatever reason) overly harsh on JWH in charging him twice, knowing he'd get a fark load of loading for both charged due to unrelated priors (mostly minor and some pretty bloody dubious).

The NRL's now in a position where JWH and Wighton may be absent from Vegas, which would be a shame. IMO both should play and this highlights how stupid the current system can be when it comes to suspensions.

If you don’t count rep games as part of a suspension then he should get to play for NZ. If he can’t play rep games due to a suspension, then they count. Really simple, and not a loop hole.

A loop hole would be allowing someone to backflip on rep retirement, then not play any rep games just to return from a suspension early.

Suspension from rep games can only be served by missing rep games, club games suspension only club games. If you cop a suspension in your last NRL game and move to Super League, you serve the suspension there before you start playing. trials don't count as club games, all stars does not count as a rep game.

Couldn't agree more guy is a loose cannon and as he is getting older he cant get to places on the filed that he used gets frustrated and them something stupid - Doesnt deserve to go would rather some of the younger guys go as they are all improving - you cannot live in past glories like the loser Sowfffs fans

good news if he can eat up his suspension in rep footy. unfair if he can't which would mean he'd be penalised twice - misses his 7 games with us and misses internationals. i don't think it's practical to keep suspensions in one level of footy separate from other levels.
yeah, jwh did the wrong thing v tigers but we're a stronger team with him playing well.
i think we should modify the idea that he's at his best when he's sailing close to the wind. suspension laws have changed and the punishment for relatively minor infringements is over the top and the risk reward ratio has fundamentally changed

I think we are a very good shot at the title next year.

Oh, and I love JWH but I think we have moved on. He really needs to pull his head in next year in regards to discipline.

I think Rads has finally learnt a valuable lesson, he was great in the last part of the year but JWH continued to disappoint.

I agree we are a good shot next year. If we can get most of our key players to survive the season without injury, we will be very tough to beat. As much as I detested some of his early to mid season selections, I think Robbo proved he could get the squad up mentally when he needed to. Even the less vaunted replacements for our injured stars were playing out of their skins in the last month or two and the team started to gel pretty well. I think morale improved after getting rid of Lodge and Ryles, plus the inclusion of Cordner and Friend into the coaching team. Which of these events was the catalyst, who knows?

Lets hope that we don’t see the 2nd year syndrome for Sandon Smith and Wong, as both added a whole new dimension to the squad.

One small problem with that is what happens when a player is suspended after a rep game and never plays rep footy again - They will never serve any suspension,
