  • Season over... positives for next season.

    Well...
that was an interesting end to the season I guess, not sure how to feel.

But i feel there were some positives moving into next year.

    1) Terell May to be a great leader of our forward pack with Lindsay Collins.
    2) Brandon Smith will definitely have a better second season and felt he had some great games
    3) Sam Walker has to stay as our 7 moving forward
    4) Spencer Lenui and Dom Young are going to be great. 1. Tedesco 2. Daniel Tupou 3. Billy Smith 4. Joseph Manu & Dom Young (Suaalii moves on)
    5) Sandon Smith's game is nice & needs to fit in somewhere not sure where.

          Here’s a few;

Wong, Sandon, May and Whyte look like excellent prospects and if they continue to improve we are in good hands.

After a rocky start Cheese has found his feet and and does compliment our power game style - enough Turpin talk please.

We have real depth in backs and Forwards - halves maybe lean.

Genuine 14 in Sandon. Covers many positions and has so much speed, guile and impact.

Our club values/ culture never wavered under pressure, even when it looked like we were cooked. Trent showed strong leadership, resilience, accountability which trickled to the team.

Cords and Friend are playing bigger roles in the club which has had a notable improvement in standards.

The attitude in defence is back. That’s the main thing.

We haven’t conceded more than 16 points in a game since July till tonight (and let’s face it 6 of them were a rort).

There’s clear attack issues that need sorting, namely WTF happened to Teddy this year, and can we get a full team on the park at any point?

We have to charge into the start of the season full steam for once. Prancing about going 5-5 (or worse) won’t work again. There’s no Cronk to save us.

A top 17 of something like

              1. Tedesco
              2. Tupou
              3. Smith
              4. Manu
              5. Young
              6. Keary
              7. Walker
              8. Collins
              9. Brandon
              10. Leniu
              11. Sitili
              12. Butcher
              13. Radley

              14. Watson
              15. JWH
              16. Wong
              17. Egan

That’s not even including Gus or Suaalii who I believe might both be shipped to union this off-season (seriously, who misses in that backline if Joey S is still here?) And Terrell who has been terrific recently.

Just get fit and ****ing stay fit, please boys.

Broncos might be a bit weaker. Flegler and Herbie are big losses. Reyno another year older. I think they need to win it this year more than Penrith perhaps.

I love Sam and think he should be our 7 but there are key
parts of his game which are developing - which means he gets it wrong often.

Yes he sunk his two field goals in the last fortnight but he lacked execution throughout the games. His running game fell off a cliff and he can have special moments but is inconsistent and doesn’t managed a game well. I believe he will learn these skills but he lacks them right now.

Might be harsh given his age but he’s the Roosters halfback and needs to build on this in offseason.

                      Terrell May.

The dude is like Payne freaking Haas.

                      Wong is a freak.

Young will be amazing. Leniu and JWH off the bench.

                      We have some serious talent.

We just need luck with injuries LOL and a defintive answer to the halves conundrum, being... Can you have two blokes that can't kick the ball further than a 13 year old?

                      It's our major achilles heel.

                        Sandon ahead of Watson imo

Shame we can’t keep Baker and send E Butcher up to the Broncos

I think we will give it a serious shake next year. Our younger players have shown much promise and will be better next year. I think the last few months will do wonders for belief in the team,

I agree 100% with both points. Sandon will be a great 14 next year, but I can see him in the halves when Keary retires.

Egan Butcher tries hard but lacks impact in attack and defence. He just hasn’t progressed from last year whereas Baker has finally kicked on: he’ll be good for the Broncos. When we have a fully fit team next year, I’m not sure Egan makes the top 17. Whyte should be ahead of him and we still have Sitili to come back into the team.
