we should have got a penalty when Smith was dumped on his head
obviously the Grant knock on which again lead to a try to them
and possibly cost us a try.
other line ball decisions all went their way.
I still won $200 on the game because I doubled down on taking us with the start,
but it's still an empty feeling when the team gets robbed.
The other bad calls is the complete disregard for the storms skinny 10 metres , players moving before the ball is played and so keep on killing our yardage and sapping our energy in effort. We were royally up against it....disagree w trent that we know we don't get the 50/50 calls and should overcome that. The effort to do that against the better teams is nigh on impossible.Maybe with a full healthy squad all playing to their optimum we could, but we don't and didn't have that luxury! Top effort by the guys, which with decent refereeing we would win!

The one that gets me is the kick chasers being in front of the play the ball haring down the field to trap us inside our territory. Happened on most occasions last night.

It's become a bit of a joke this year, we have been guilty of it to. But a defender can be 30 metres offside, they only have to let the attacking player run 10 metres before they are put back onside. I don't know how you stop it but there was one occasion last night where the Storm players were a good 30metres in front of the kicker and the ball only went 35m so they all had to run backwards 5 metres. Angus Crichton ended up doing some strange tap back which put them all onside but it's a bit of a joke.

[QUOTE=Rooster_6;n1028782]I don't know if he cheated but it's hard to imagine what he thought he saw... sometimes a player goes to catch that with two hands and it's touch and go whether they get their hands under the ball or there's a little bobble but his hands were so far away from the ball I just don't know what the thought he saw.

His view and proximity to the call makes it one of the all time shockers but I don't think he's a cheat as he's notorious for making clangers.

I dislike the interference of the bunker as much as most, but there's gotta be a system where the bunker overrules and those types of shockers cannot exist in finals footy.

I agree. People like Gus Gould come out and complain about the bunker and how much the game slows down due to the amount of stoppages. There is a place for it, I believe, if applied correctly and sparingly. A call like that Grant one should never have happened in this modern day and age with technology the way it is. Sadly, it won't be the last incident that we will be talking about. I just hope the next time does not involve us in a do or die final with a season on the line!

is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Agree very hard to cop that one I’m afraid most of if not all is Easts fans knew it was coming, look even if we made it through I believe we would have been competitive against Penrith but ultimately they would get us, what we need this time of year is a healthy squad (something we simply haven’t been able to do 3 years running).
Jared let us down but look at the emergence of May he was a monster backing Collins up when he came off, throw Leniu in there and a fully fit and firing JWH we have a cracking front row rotation.

Victor Radley finally turning the corner using his head and not his heart controlled aggression with line bending running he has been enormous deserves a break.

Sandon Smith is a gun he will partner Sammy Walker soon enough.

Wong my god this kid came from nowhere.

The arrival of Don Young genuine pace and finishing specialist.

The Bondi Wall is back Grit, Spirit and never say die attitude reminiscent of our all conquering 18-19 squad another year or two we should be fighting for a premiership, however we cannot let points slip to teams we should be beating, we need a strong start and a top 2/4 finish it’s impossible to win from outside the 4.

Gutted that we eliminated in those circumstances the win would have topped the Cronulla game but the experience is invaluable puts us in good stead.

We will back and we will be better.

So proud of the resilience this team has showed thank you boys
              Bring on 2024!!!
Thank you mate. I have been around. The business of life has just been getting in the way, that's all. I will try and come on more regularly going forward. I do enjoy being on here. I agree with your comments. Our outlook for next season and beyond is looking bright. If Robbo can just get us to be a little more consistent during the regular season, and we can sneak into that top four, we will be thereabouts and challenging again (barring injuries, of course). This year once again proves you need to be in the top four. Ideally, first or second would be great, to get the home ground advantage. Our luck has got to change after a few years, surely! We have recruited well. Everything at this stage is looking good. Fingers crossed. At least we beat the old enemy and denied them a chance of going further. That, coupled with the (likely) fact that Penrith will win next week's preliminary final regardless of who won on Friday night, will keep me reasonably content and satisfied over the off season. Bring on 2024! Easts to win.

Time and time again he has proved his bias against us! It has happened too many times and it is just not possible to get that call wrong unless he was daydreaming about his end of season trip! Have you EVER seen a ref in a better position to make a blatantly obvious call?! If he tried to even it up later it is only because he realised he had gone too far this time. The guy should never referee us again!

Klein is just a puppet for the NRL.
The NRL business model and administration is totally flawed. It’s not about the game or fans. It’s all about financial control.
                  Furthermore.
The Roosters the only team in the series to win a finals match at an opponents home ground.
In the NRL way of thinking 2 consecutive away wins, horrific for them , the first being a game that officialdom was inept with its ruling on foul play and purposeful bias again in the 2nd finals away game in Melbourne.

Watch them reward the bald headed prick with promotion to ref the grand final.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.
