He did. However, let's not be like the Faders. I'm glad that Robbo went out with class.

We farked up multiple opportunities and it was an unfortunate result as I though we outplayed them (Harry was a disgrace lying down and trying to get a penalty at the end).

S*x but it's over now. Time to hit the limoncello and craft beers. Klein's not worth getting angry over.

I think the replay showed that Keary was looking at him, noticed he was in front and told him to come back. Also the ref was shouting out his name multiple times so it was dumb. Like him or not, you don't just ignore the ref like that when he warns you... I don't think Klein wanted to make that call but he HAD to because he'd called him back 3 or 4 times using a VERY loud voice.

Reminds me of a moment during my illustrious footy career where I was easily onside but was so much faster than anybody on the field that the ref couldn't believe that I'd just pounced in from nowhere to tackle a guy in-goal. The ref kept shouting at me to stop chasing. When I hammered the guy he had some big rant about how I'd made no attempt to back-off and I told him I'd run from 20m being the kicker so didn't have to (even the opposition told him that). His response was 'doesn't matter... I called you offside... you've gotta listen to the ref next time'.

Either a cheat or severely incompetent. That should be the end of first grade career.

This is where RL has gone downhill. Things like that should automatically be picked up by the bunker. So the try was illegal. We definitely would have won. Unacceptable that in a finals game there is such mediocre refereeing. Robbo should have gotten stuck into Klein not let him off. Storm trying to milk penalties a disgrace to the game. Next week they get knocked out by Penrith.

He was offside then helped Teddy push him back into the in goal from memory.

Probably practiced a thousand of those at training but got it wrong when it matters.

Big moment in a tight game went against us.

[QUOTE=Nigel Gaffey; He made a mistake, not cheated. Seriously!

and I feel like hes tried to square up since!! That Simms dropped ball gets given against us 9/10 times.

our completion rate is 90%. Lets believe we can do this instead of blaming the ref already.

Agree with that. In a way that Grant knock on "error" was fortunate. The blatancy of it on the big screen (and possible chip from the Bunker) caused him to pull his head in to a considerable degree especially since the try that followed linked to it. We then went on to get a better deal than we might have had otherwise and have had under him in the past.

MRR mate where have you been? Longtime since you last posted .
Agree very hard to cop that one I’m afraid most of if not all is Easts fans knew it was coming, look even if we made it through I believe we would have been competitive against Penrith but ultimately they would get us, what we need this time of year is a healthy squad (something we simply haven’t been able to do 3 years running).
Jared let us down but look at the emergence of May he was a monster backing Collins up when he came off, throw Leniu in there and a fully fit and firing JWH we have a cracking front row rotation.

Victor Radley finally turning the corner using his head and not his heart controlled aggression with line bending running he has been enormous deserves a break.

Sandon Smith is a gun he will partner Sammy Walker soon enough.

Wong my god this kid came from nowhere.

The arrival of Don Young genuine pace and finishing specialist.

The Bondi Wall is back Grit, Spirit and never say die attitude reminiscent of our all conquering 18-19 squad another year or two we should be fighting for a premiership, however we cannot let points slip to teams we should be beating, we need a strong start and a top 2/4 finish it’s impossible to win from outside the 4.

Gutted that we eliminated in those circumstances the win would have topped the Cronulla game but the experience is invaluable puts us in good stead.

We will back and we will be better.

So proud of the resilience this team has showed thank you boys
                Bring on 2024!!!

fair enough penalty then. Thanks mate. The late 6 again was so soft but he gave the ref a decision to make and he was always making it too. Wong’s pass as well. Just moments of inexperience you can’t afford in a big game when every play is so big

Haha that’s classic mate. A lot probably thought similar when Keary turned into Usain Bolt in that sharks charge down

After calming down I've made the calculated decision to NEVER watch another NRL game refereed by Ashley Klein.

He is a turd that must be flushed. Just like Cummins. And I won't indulge his criminality with my viewership any more.

So we had to give up ten points to get a better deal from Klein Hmmm

                          There's bad.

                          Then there's terrible.

                          Then there's Klein.

Let's not forget that the little prick tried to award JAC an 8 point try in the 2018 grand final.

The bloke is hopeless. Should never referee another match in his life.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

He has a history of robbing us, and last night was no different! He has a history of caning with penalties and six agains and not giving us penalties. There is NO WAY he could have not seen a knock on from there! NO FRIGGIN' WAY! He hates us - it's as simple as that! The guy should NEVER referee us again. He should never referee in the NRL again! Who's got a cement mixer!

He is clearly incompetent and it’s no secret. There was so much chat leading into the game about his incompetence and then he goes out and proves everyone right. Imagine if last night was a GF. It’s unforgivable.
