  • Jarome Hughes likely out for Storm

Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy admits star halfback Jahrome Hughes is unlikely to play in their elimination semi-final against Sydney Roosters at AAMI Park on Friday night.

Hughes missed the final round with a knee injury but proved his fitness for last week’s qualifying final loss to the Broncos in Brisbane. He hasn’t trained this week and Bellamy said he would likely be “shuffling” his side to cover for the match-winning playmaker.

Tyran Wishart I assume will come into the Storm team as the halves replacement.

Maybe he got a minor head knock at training and the Storm are following the proper protocols that they are notorious for....

I'll believe after the teams are culled to 19.

I heard that Rod Wishart called Robbo and asked if he needs a winger for the weekend. Apparently keen to have a father and son matchup.

Would be a massive out for them and brings us back in it.

In Melbourne's defense they lost the Cheese and Welch to head knocks in the 2021 Prelim. Cost them a Premiership. I was shocked Cheese didn't come back on.

Even in 2019, Kaufusi the thug went off against us in the Prelim and didn't return due to concussion. Also shocked.

It's mostly Souffs that flagrantly disregard the welfare of their own players.

Is he really that good BTW? Thought he was one of our surplus juniors who didn't quite make it.

Crazy to think we're still underdogs with their #1 choice of FB and HB out

Wouldn't trust Bellamy as far as I could throw him - believe it when it happens
