My wife rehouses old boys. The Cav is 12 and been with us for 4 years and the Chihuahua is 3 and a more recent addition. Luckily he's not a cranky fella like the old Maltese we had which like Jackie Wighton, bared the fangs at every opportunity. The Council fined us $300 when some goose up the road tried to pick him up. His haircuts cost $800 (not kidding) because he had to be anaesthetised. He had a heart attack and died on the grooming table when we got a mobile guy in after twice paying the $800.

That is some expensive grooming. It is annoying when people touch your dog without permission sometimes. People ask me if my guy bites, I say yes and then they seem to want to touch him anyway.

Mine doesn’t need grooming as he sheds his coat all over the carpet, furniture and me! I’m not sure what’s worse, paying for expensive grooming or forever cleaning up dog hair everywhere.

Yeah luckily my girl is purely outside and me mostly with her so I just give her a DE shedding and brush myself. Like you I hate it when parents and kids run up to her and lash out to pat her . She is very timid and very scared of small kids and dogs but they don't seem to care. She was in the back of the ute the other day at the traffic lights and 2 people walk up and started patting her. She loves it but I wish she would bark or bite the sometimes

We also had an old Pug a while back. They're big time shedders (hair everywhere) and he was a greedy bugger and always at the Vet but he was my fave old boy. Comical like no other. Crafty too, we hosted a luncheon in the Highlands and he waited till everybody went out to the garden, found a way up onto the table and demolished a large bowl of caviar dip.

My three borders would definately have the smarts to fill out the membership application - if they’d just stop for 5 minutes hearding my actual chooks…I swear my hens and rooster are becoming neurotic with all the collie instinct driving them nuts.

I have a Stumpy Tail Cattle dog, Her name is Tilly and I love her to bits. They're an amazing breed.! Smart, affectionate, loyal and can be as silly as a clown if you encourage her. Tilly has my missus wrapped around her paw. Fresh chicken or beef mince, Loves fish. Black Hawk kibble and soup bones which have plenty of meat on them. She eats better than me.

We always had cattle dogs when I lived in the sticks. Love em.
