  • Bitin' Wighton Gets Only 3 Matches

Meanwhile JWH gets 7 weeks for a nothing incident (yeah loading, blah blah)

How's this for a sympathetic hearing - they all but put the blame on the guy he bit; I'm particularly impressed by point 3 - the "spur of the moment" defence. Never heard this one before, as if to say all other acts of foul play are premeditated and carefully planned, perhaps for weeks? Would have been handy if they applied the "no injury" principle to our players more often - must be an example of "the vibe". Needless to say, NRL are a joke as we already knew:
    1. "as previously stated, player Gamble’s arm had been placed in a
      position in which it should not have been placed;
    2. some pressure was applied to player Wighton as a result.
    3. the actions of player Wighton, although intentional, were executed on the spur of the moment; and
    4. no injury was inflicted to player Gamble."

Tyson Gamble declined to give evidence and some were thinking as a result that Wighton may have got off.

If Gamble gave evidence I am sure that Wighton would have a received a 5 to 6 match suspension

A Broncos NRLW was suspended for 2 matches for biting Rooster Jayme Fressard in a very similar incident. Difference being that Jayme Fressard gave Evidence at the Judiciary.

NRLW being a 9 round regular season comp so roughly 1/4 of the season

I forgot to mention the Broncos NRLW player was sent off in that game - Wighton put on report

And you watch, the carnt will be able to serve the suspension after making a "comeback" in rep footy.

          It's a joke.
Firstly I dont think he really bit him , but that's just my view of it. I might be wrong.
But if the Judicary thinks he bit him then why only 3 weeks.
Biting has the be one of the lowest acts , so 6 weeks minimum , maybe 10 weeks if you bite someone , it's disgusting.
So my guess is they cant be sure he bit him , so it's only 3 weeks , it's like they dont thnk he bit him , but we better give him a few weeks just in case he did bite him.

I dont really care, I dont like Gamble or Wighton.
They would both fit in well at Soufs.

NRL showing what a nickel and dime operation they really run. Terrible decision as usual.

                  I hope so.

This is surely a joke if he can backflip on rep retirement to have those games count .And Mal will probably play the game

On NRL 360 they mentioned that Mal not playing that game, and won't pick him if he is suspended.

There was more than enough evidence to warrant a 5-6 match suspension without Gamble providing evidence. As if Gamble is going to waste his time providing evidence when he has an elimination final to prepare for. Surely that’s understandable.

The NRL judicial system is a joke.

What a Farking joke! It should be 6 weeks for the bite and 2 more for acting like a disrespectful clown at the judiciary.
