  • Solid performance

Looking at our performances this year, disgusting performances aside (Cowboys/Storm games) we have showed pretty steady improvement to be honest. We shouldn't have lost to the Panthers or Dragons, but vital moments in both games cost us, and likewise, we pulled the rabbit out of the hat against Souths to beat them. Just some things to note:

    - Minichiello has earnt another season with us. As critical as I am of him in recent years, he is quite safe, and his support play and experience has slowly improved again as the year has gone on. His confidence is showing clearly and is a positive influence on the team
    - Tagive is a keeper. He has the physical attributes that past flops like Tevita Folau, Sisa Waqa, Vince Mellars etc were all blessed with, but he seems to be improving with each showing as well, is returning the ball strongly, and his pace in the clear is deceptively sharp
    - Aubusson needs to stay in the backrow. The guy has all his best games in the forwards, and all his worst games in the centres. He actually makes MORE breaks in the backrow, where he is exceptionally mobile for a forward, as opposed to when he plays in the centres, when he is found wanting in the evasiveness department. Vital member of the engine room.
    - Our backrow depth is better than ever. When Nuuausala returns, assuming we persist with the 4-prop rotation of Hargreaves, Kennedy, Masoe, Tasi, then we have Aubusson, Guerra, Arona, Nuuausala, Takairangi, Bosden, Cordner, Symonds and the returning Cherrington all fighting for 4 spots (5 if we have a utility like Mitchell or Mortimer on the bench)
    - Pearce is showing outstanding progress and leadership this year, and deserves his Origin selection without a doubt

Awesome to be there today. The only downside I think was the amount of swearing that comes from our fans in particular.

I haven't been to a game since we beat melbourne last year, but every time I go there I find it amazing how much our fans are turning into Souffs inbreds. I took my three yr old daughter and 6 yr old son to watch the game and came home regretting that Idea, as nearly every single sweard word in every native language was being screamed. AND this is when we're winning.

I yearn for the days when games were family atmospheres, I honestly don't think I'll take my kids with me to the games anymore.

Other than that good performance boys.

BTW is Anasta Auditioning for the next installment of dancing with the stars?????? Why does he always do a pirouette everytime he gets the ball.

I do ear alot of swearing to but then I think it is a footy game not a wiggles concert... You just gotta know where and where not to sit.

A good win by the chooks. Although I think we should of scored at least twice in the first 20 wen we got those repeat sets. Cordner was great in defense.
          Is that the full story,
          or is your news limited?

I know its not a wiggles concert and the area I was sitting in had a lot of families there. But the culprits were people who you would least expect. I'm not only talking about a group of 40 yer old men, but a bunch 14 or 15 year old kids some are girls as well. The place I usually sit in is to the left of the chookpen, near the seats on the corner of the stadium. I'm not sure what the area is classified as.

I would be heaps grateful if you could recommend any good family areas for future use.

            cheers

I think the seats above and near the tunnel wouldn't be as hostile but I don't know if there reserved. or the upper tier of the stadium but I think you would stil hear the profanity sittin in the nosebleeds when the pink wiggle in the middle is penalizing us because there bored.

Mate a few years back I took my 2 girls ( 5 and 8) to a game and bought seating in what I was told was the family seating area. It made no difference. Fans behind were C this and F that all game. I ended up launching myself over the seat and telling one guy that I was going to rip his head off if he used C&%t one more time in front of my kids. I don't take them anymore.

By the way, on the game, there used to be a crazy fan I used to see that would wear a really old rooster jersey and a rooster hat or beanie and scream on the sidelines at the other players. I remember him from years back but recently I haven't seen him at any games. Do any of you know where he's gone to?

I was sitting next to a mate who brought his kid with him so instead of invective, I questioned Shane Hayne's parentage and his eyesight.

He was there yesterday. He gets there for the 20s games every week and is a lot more noticeable when the crowd is small. The ref in the 20s was a complete and utter disgrace. Five blatant calls against us that will no doubt see him dropped. The old fella was in the front row giving the ref his best while the 20s kicker for the Knights lined up their first conversion. The dialogue was along the lines of "You're a criminal ref...an nrl criminal...and if you don't believe me why don't you lock me up you criminal...why? Because you can't cos you're an nrl criminal you criminal...you're a criminal!!!!". The poor old Knights kicker was no chance after that hahahaha

His name is Brian and is certainly a very passionate Easts man. One of my friends is related to him by marriage. I saw him up at Gosford once too. He's always telling the officials they are a disgrace to the league.
