  • We are cursed

There is no other team in the last few years that have had more injuries than us and at crucial times. Someone grab me a stat on the last time we fielded the same team two weeks in a row.

Are we cursed? Do they need to hire Farian to get a black magic smoking ceremony at training?

And who was the pelican that posted a few weeks ago that we will have too many backs on our books next season. LOL mun.

Well we'll do the best bloody job we can with who we've got.

After Sat we showed the spirit and grit we got.

Maybe we get done but somehow I reckon we'll lift.

As if the drizz will go further than week 3 anyways

It keeps on coming. Alan Katzmann on twitter: “Highly promising @sydneyroosters centre Robert Toia suffered a torn ACL at training last week. Scans have confirmed the worst news. It is the opposite knee to the one he tore last season. He has returned to Queensland to rehabilitate and is likely to miss most of the 2024 season”

Yay another long term injury. Why dont we sweep this one under the rug with the rest of them and consider it ‘bad luck’ again.

Sorry just fed up with all the injuries. Surely something has got to be done by the club about this. Bad luck like this doesn’t exist. Strength & conditioning and other training regimes must be overhauled.

Someone has walked under a ladder or crossed paths with a black cat to have all this bad luck with injuries since 2020 - not only NRL but NRLW now as well

NRL - 9 out of the 28 player squad
              • Sitili - Season
              • Momirovksi - Season
              • Watson - Season
              • Toops - Season
              • Suaalii - HIA
              • Billy Smith - Season
              • Manu - Season
              • JWH (Self Inflicted)- Season
              • Toia - Season plus most of next season

NRLW - 7 out of the 24 player squad
              • Sergis - maybe back?
              • Rose - Season
              • Nasio - Season
              • Papalii - Season
              • Hall - Season
              • Burton - Season
              • Kelly - HIA

So this is the Roosters way , next player up mentality. But sad to say we have run out of players . Lets get down to Melbourne and try to ambush them that seems our only chance. Here I was getting excited about a prelim . Can we call up Latrell for a one off game ?? Expectations are now diminished.

I'm just waiting for the bad luck/curse of the B2B to hit Penriff. They have been blessed for the past 3 seasons and have been the most fortunate club, not the most dominant. I'll die on that hill.

Losing players to 'playing' injuries is bad enough but losing Billy Smith and Suallili to foul play at finals time without any way of compensatory action is so unfair. Miracles do happen.... maybe, the ref will feel sorry us against Melbourne give us more 6 agains , penalties and sin bin nelson and we could have a chance. Oh I just looked out the window and saw some pigs flying over!

Cheese said something that resonated with me at the start of the year on his podcast

Apparently the Roosters focus heavily on long distance running during training way more than the Storm (and I guess every other club)

Solid chance this might have something to do with why everyone always have knee issues this time of year

Lessons might not have been learnt yet....
