  • The bench

It has been the difference for us in last couple of games. May has been enormous playing big minutes and off loading and making big yardage. Baker very solid and Sandon smith doing a great job in attack and defense when called upon. Angus has been the Angus of old especially in last two games, running hard and tackling harder.
With Baker leaving next year we need to keep May and Whyte and lock them up on extended contracts. Smith needs to stay which means Turpin will go as we’re keeping Watson.

It's interesting the last two weeks Robbo has opted for three bigger bodies on the bench, and went with the smaller starting pack.

Melbourne has some big bodies and love a crash play if they can win the territory battle. Decisions for Robbo.

May will one day be the games best Prop and needs to be offered a long term deal. He's showing plenty of muturity and playing out of his skin. I love him!

          It's very exciting!

I like Baker. It's a shame we couldn't retain him especially with JWH retiring at the end of net season.

Would have preferred retaining Fletch than signing Leinu. He isn't grabbing me.

Dragons are making a big play for Nat Butcher and Manu - So November 1 2023 is going to be interesting as a host of other players with contracts for 2024 are able to negotiate with other clubs

Pretty sure Manu came out and said he is staying with us and he has no interest in going to the dragons

Doubt they'd go to that dysfunctional rabble with little to no chance of a GF any time soon.

How much would Baker be on next year?

Baker is a loss imo. That is the price of indulging JWH for one more year.

                        Cuppa tea and a shoeshine.

Got no idea Bates. I'll bet it's less than what we are paying Spencer though.

I think Whyte is a middle and we also have Watson, Sitili, Gus, and one of the Butch brothers*. I think the club has done an excellent job succession planning for life without Jared - FF stocks look very good.

*assuming Wong and other butch at second row.
