Word today that a couple of Rugby interests and NRL clubs are preparing big offers to the young buck. We need to be on the front foot, would hate to lose him.

not sure if we had a part in him going to a union school. if so, it doesn't seem smart

Won't be going anywhere, he has been in our system since the age of 15 and expecting the club to tie him up for at least 4 years.

if only robbo would stop concentrating on winning comps and worrying about what school players go to we'd be sweet

Surely not. That wouldn’t make any sense at all.

what an articulate impressive young man, one of the best interviews for years.

Can’t see us loosing him, we bought him over as a 15 yr old and have given him an education , opportunity and he seems ingrained in the Roosters culture. Nick and Robbo aren’t idiots, they will get it done

just listened to him on roosters radio - gee the interviewers are good on that and wong was very impressive - and apparently we brought him over and fixed him up with a school. if we lose wong having lost suaalii we might want to have a re-think

Difference being we had nothing to do with big Joe’s development, it was clear he wasn’t set on league for life, and we couldn’t change his mind.

Wong would probably feel he owes us, so with the right offer, there is no reason we shouldn’t hold onto him.

Same. Seems like a very impressive young guy, who is eligible to represent about 12 countries from what Brandon was saying on his Jam and Cheese podcast it seems Michael Maguire will be picking him in the NZ squad for the postseason internationals.

Surely there are plenty of good schools that only offer rugby league only though? I know union is more of a private school thing but I’d thought there’d be somewhere for leaguey’s to get a good education.

I went to Waverley Collage and unfortunately was exposed to RU. I hated it back then and hate it more now. I played my 1st game of league when I was 16 for Bondi United. I had years of bottled up Beetson, Gurr, Schubert, Hastings, Cleal, Boustead etc oozing out of my veins that year. It was great!

There probably is but I'm guessing it would be hard for a kid to get from Westfields or Endeavour to the Eastern Suburbs for training each day
