Jeez, there'll be an army out there when you consider last year's splurge. Who knew that Kikau, Burton and their illustrious company were such duds?
Re Turpin. He's missing for much the same reason he was cut from the Broncs, good defender but not much in the go forward department. A couple of years under Bellamy would be a good option for him. The Dogs? Not so much.
Surely not. They have so many players its not funny.
I didn't expect us to keep him given there is no news on a re-signing and we haven't seen him in the first grade set-up for a few months. I thought he did really well for us when called upon and is definitely a first grade hooker.
And of those so many players most of them are back ups or utilities. Bold strategy by Gould.
Any info/insight on Moriarty? What should we expect from him?
Big call to release Turps imo with no proven hooker backup but if the kid has something about him it could play out.
No I haven’t any info other than the comments that get posted in here. I thought Turpin did a good job too but Moriarty has been in our system for a while and given the way Gus is signing up anyone he can get his hands on at the moment we probably didn’t want to lose him as well. I gather Tyler has a broader skill set than Turpin.
sorry to see him go but with watson re-signing and smith an option with a view to developing him as a starting half it's no surprise. i thought he gave his all for us and with his defensive work ethic fitted into the kind of team we are but you can't keep them all
I'm a little surprised by this. I thought that Turps deserved a 1 year extension at the very least. Anyone know how far off this Moriarty kid is from first grade?
