  • The best thing about Brian Smith

He knows what kind of team he wants
He has a Fullback that gets involved in the game a lot to make sure theres always an overlap
He has Wingers who have speed
He has Centres who are strong ball runners, and are genuinely centres
    His halves are creative
He has his hooker play a running game
And his forward packs are no nonense, just run hard and dont miss tackles

This is the best thing to happen to the Roosters for a few years and I personally cannot wait for next year

    Good positives there.

    Negatives
Had great teams...Dragons in the early 90's, Parra in 2001, and still could'nt win a comp.

I'm bagging the poor prick already.

I reckon Phil Gould was the key to Brian Smith' signing. He always wraps Smith when ever he mentions a good coach. I wouldn't be surprised to see Freddie staying on the coaching staff.

Smith would be a good mentor to Fittler.

I hope that happens. Freddy should never have gone beyond 2007 due to his inexperience. And yes, I thought that back then and not just with the benefit of hindsight.

The whole "he hasn't won a premiership" thing is overrated. The Broncs were way too good for anyone at the time, and the 2001 baby Eels "choked" against a star studded Knights outfit.

IMO, we should have lapped the Panthers and Dogs in 03/04 but didn't. Shit happens.

Agree with all of this. The Broncs were the best team of the early 90's by far. The eels should have won the com p though.

I am not so sure about B Smith. Time will tell though

Maybe not in the short term but IMO that may be good, let him take a few years to enjoy his retirement and get away from the club.

                The future could hold anything.

Look at Artie. Sacked by the club 4-5 times???? He is still an Easts Man deep down and will always have time for the club when hes needed.

                The FlogPen .

                You know it makes sense.

Where do you get that info from, because Freddy himself told us all tonight that he will not be lost to the club........

Interpret that as you will, but taken in the context it was given, he will be around......

IMO a fair few of the 20's will be brought up to firsts under Smith.....

The sweeper is going to hit Bondi very hard early next year, and I seriously doubt the Carney rumour mill will keep rolling for much longer, and that a few others will be punted......

I just don't know about SKD anymore.

I really hope Smith is the answer.

During his interview today,he was told Smith has a role for him,and he replyed he will not be at the club next year in any role.He was rather angry judging by his body language and may rethink the offer when the dust settles though Sue.

And a few under20s will be pissed off...and rightly so.

I am with Melon, I think a more U20s will be punted rather than brought into first grade due to their egos
