I tell you what, Hutch played well last night and it was very pleasing to see a strong/decent kicking game and that 40/20 he got us was the cherry on top. I'm not saying he's turned a new page and looks like a world beater, but he looked comfortable last night and so did Kez and the rest of the side.

I still believe that Sandon can turn into a solid #7 and Walker can be that Munster style of #6 but Sandon still needs time to develop and Walker will do his thing at his own pace.

Keary needs to be tapped on the shoulder soon as we look towards "succession planning/future-building" our halves. Walker needs to stay and he should be complimented with a strong #7 halves partner (build the spine around him). Maybe next season it's a combo between Sandon/Hutch (as required) to tag team with Walker ?

PS: Yes I know Keary has one more year left with us ... but anything could happen from here now till next season at any point !

hutch has a ceiling, which means he can never be our primary halfback if we want to challenge for a premiership. He also has a good though, which means you can get a reliable game out of him every time he sets foot on the field.

id like to see him in the halves from now until we sign a replacement
Hutch goes fairly well with Walker.

Not a premiership half, but does a good job when in form (see the 2021 season)

Biggest problem is the pace issue. He is just much too slow compared to the average NRL half. He is like Anasta with some heart to be honest.

Not his fault, but that wont change.

I don't know why so many are surprised that Hutch went well at half. He played pretty much a full season there for us in 2021 and helped get a spare parts team into the semis. He was the perfect foil for Walker and Lam, as he was for Keary last night

Not sure why the Hutchinator would be unlikely to be at the Roosters though in 2024 - He is not on big money for starters and is the type of player all teams need - A Player that will play any role or position the Coach wants without question or complaints.

No on field or off field shenanigans either

A 1 year deal with 1 year MO is what I hear

Hutch is a reflection of our current standards and how our season is going.

              Hutch is a 6 or 7 ONLY
everytime he plays there, he does his job

              Everywhere else is a disaster

You guys must have been smoking something. Hutch was bog average last night. His bombs were way too short to give Suallii any chance. His defense was floundering. I cannot recall one ball to Manu or Sualli when they were actually moving. Our line breaks were made on the left via Keary. Hutch made a few runs because the defense were onto Manu, Tedesco and Suallii. They knew they could round Hutch up in a couple of strides, which they did. Great Hutch can kick long woohoo. Hutch had some really good games when Keary was out a while back. Last night was not one of them. Jeez talk about lowering the bar.
