Coach Strange has added two new players to the squad - Grace Hamilton (Prop) and Mia Wood (Centre) as replacements for Tavarna Papalii and Amber Hall who were both ruled out for the season -Aliyah Nasio was on a development contract and was also ruled out for the season - No replacement has been named

The match is live on Channel 9 on Thursday 3rd August 2023 % 5:30 pm

grace hamilton's back! that could negate the loss of hall. good to see sergis named and fingers crossed she's alright and plays. i thought fotu-moals was okay on the weekend and obviously she's got a pedigree so you'd figure she'll only get better. will be interested to see how paskikala goes. fair enough that hopoate's not in the 17 - she wasn't great. she's done some good things but needs to make every minute she's on the field count.

Grace is an Australian Wallaroo /NSW/NSW Waratah Rugby Union player (Flanker) who also played for the Sydney Roosters NRLW side in 2020 ( 4 games including the Grand Final) when COVID forced the cancellation of the Women's Rugby Test series/Women's Rugby 7's/ Tokyo Olympics.

I rated Grace but she went back to Rugby when it recommenced in 2021.

You might recall Charlotte Caslick also playing for the Sydney Roosters in 2020 for the same reason but unfortunately was injured in the second game vs New Zealand Warriors ( spine fractures)

I think if Charlotte wasn't injured the Roosters would have won that comp - 20-10 Brisbane in the GF

Oh thanks King, I obviously forgot about her! Yes remember Caslick playing for us. She should be an asset for us esp given her rugby experience.

18 Joeli Morris and 19 Mia Wood are the reserves - Looks like Mia is on standby for Jessica Sergis who will need to pass a fitness test to play after missing the Canberra Raiders game with Hamstring Tightness

Strange Striving for Improvement in First Home Game

The Sydney Roosters NRLW team will host their first game of the 2023 season at the Sydney Cricket Ground tomorrow evening, an occasion Head Coach John Strange says the team certainly aren’t shying away from.

Following a disappointing loss to the Raiders last Saturday, the Tricolours mentor is confident his team can re-enter the winner’s circle after having difficult and honest conversations throughout the week.
