I'd give Robbo up until round 13 next season to turn things around.

Is it a top 4 roster though?

Last year we had the best front row rotation in the comp. Lodge and SST gone, JWH on his last legs. That advantage gone. Then we have a long list of issues with our halves and hooker. Not a top 4 team.

To answer your question. If we don't perform next year there is obviously going to be a massive cleanout and rebuild. With some decent kids coming through Robbo will be afforded as much time as he needs.

I'm wondering if the board is happy to keep Suallii on or free up that cash, to me it's a no brainer but they might have other ideas we dont know about.
You make a fair point about the assistants. I dunno what the division of labour is but IMO Robbo is hired for his management skills & media relations rather than his technical skills.

We've not only had our assistant coaching team gutted... our recruitment guy has also been out of action for most of the season (and is presumably still adapting to the lifestyle adjustments he's had to make).

Again I'm no insider so have NFI what impact this all has on the players. However, I suspect there's a lot of squeaky wheels and Robbo's just one (admittedly very senior) member of our management team. IMO he has Nick's backing to select good assistants and manage them. His sacking would likely lead to a complete clean-out of coaches/players and I just don't think we're at that stage yet.

Apparently the 'Trent is Spent' team don't care as long as he is gone. I asked a similar question a couple of weeks ago and was told it wasn't their job to find the new coach, and he shouldn't stay on simply because there is nobody better to replace him. So go figure that one!

Two seasons. If we bomb again next year - not unlikely given the roster he's got - then there will be no mercy during the course of 2025.

Unless he falls on his sword and resigns.

Or they elevate him to a Director of Football role or something.

Round 12... if we arent 8 wins or better then put him on notice,
top 4 or out the door.

All of next season. He has the runs on the board. If we don't mount a premiership onslaught next season, I would let him go for the start of 2025.

                        Love the Hooroo Guru's

                        Dave Faulkner is criminally under-rated.

The bookies and expert commentators rated us as a top 4 team before the season started so there were no issues with our halves and hooker. Lodge was also available and the Big Dog is still performing near his best.

These issues that developed during the season should've been fixed by Robbo. This is his job!

Why couldn't Robbo get Lodge to fire like last season?

Isn't it Robbo's job to help Sam Walker out of his form slump? Dropping Sam weakened 4 positions and sent the team into a downward spiral. What sort of a pro move is that from the games highest paid coach?

As for the issues with our Hooker. It was well known that the Cheese was only good for 40 minutes. Why would you pay $800k a year for a 40 minute player? What was Robbo thinking?

! watched them live for the first time at Sydney Uni back in 86 and I was hooked. The Stems performed before hand. What a concert!

I'm not sure Robbo can turn them around with our current halves. Sandon Smith may improve with time, hes still young and inexperienced. Sam Walkers injury has stopped him working on the aspects of his game they thought needed improving. Both the young number 7s need an experienced 6 to lead them around and I think Luke Keary might just be a year too experienced. He looks like he needs a top line number 7 alongside if he's going to play another year. Recruitment seems to be a disaster. We never looked for an experienced half to replace Cronk and now we need one to replace Keary. I have no idea what our three-quarter line will look like. We have bought 2 wingers extended Tupou and if Suallii stays next year he is best on the wing. That leaves Manu Smith and Toia in the centres Not sure if Momirovski stays. None of the other backs in the cup side are an improvement on these. I'm not sure our forward pack will be any better than this year. Hopefully Angus and Sitili come back well

This dribble again of there being no one to replace him with reeks of a mediocre, cellar dweller team. That’s not the Roosters I know and shouldn’t be a reason to let an underperforming coach remain.

The board aren’t a bunch of numpty’s. They will find someone, don’t worry about that. Before he signed, Robbo wasn’t held in high regard, he was barely known within NRL circles. Webster, an ex assistant coach, has taken an inconsistent warriors team to the top 4.

I’d give Robbo till round 10 next year. If we aren’t in the top 8, he’d be gone. If we aren’t in the top 4, there is background conversations.

The rosters is there, we wait any longer and the window shuts and who knows when it’s gunna re-opens.
