  • Season defining game for us

Despite the hurt of losing in those circumstances, the game was a cracker and for us to go toe-to-toe with a quality team like that shows how far we have come with this emerging young team.

I think this draws a line for the rest of the year...despite the disapointment I think the self-belief that we can match it with the best teams will carry us a long way this season.

Mini and Mitch outstanding. Special mention to SKD with his defensive reads and punch yesterday improving dramatically. Bosden looks the goods.

And I know some on here wont agree, but we always seem to play best when Jake gets 80 minutes.

Even though we lost, this game makes me feel excited about the rest of the year for Easts.

I liked much of what I sazw against the dragons from this young team.

We just need a good coach, a better hooker and I will be happy next year.

Yep Smith and his son can get on a plane to England and stay there.

So disappointed. I couldnt buy the paper. I know how the vermin must feel after round 1, except I have teeth, have a job, don't own a dark blue singlet or black double plug thongs and don't sit on my front verandah on old bench seats from an HJ Kingswood slugging VB from a long neck whilst spitting at people as walks past.
Other than that, I know what it feels like to lose at the last minute.
We played well for 90% of the game, but not long enough. Bloody Dragoons. Pearce MOM by the way.

Thats all I could console myself with as well - the fact that the situation was reversed from round 1.

However then I got more depressed when I realised I was comparing myself to a Souths fan and the Roosters to Souths.

This was much worse than round 1.

A marquee match in front of 40,000 people.

All of Rugby League watching at home.

And they blew it in fine fashion.

Which makes it what, 6 ANZAC losses on the trot?

            That loss was horrendous.

The only consolation is that I always knew they were going to cave at the buzzer. I just had that feeling.

              I agree.

              This was momentus.

              On such games seasons swing.

If we won this after the short turn around from the horror that was selling and then getting flogged in a home game in Darwin we go to Origin time at 5-2 and are relatively unaffected over that stretch.

Instead we go there 4-3 and in the mid table pack with massive psychological burden and get to face TinkleCastle and Big Mouff Willie Mason.

It reads disastrously and plays even worse

You also knew that BJ would be shit.

Despite the loss, I was happy with the performance. We are forgetting that this is a young team and like all young players, they lose concentration thus the loss in the final 5. After the previous performance, this is 1000% betta.
Where are we taking our next home game to? Broome?

I dont care if they offer us 2 million dollars, home is home. You don't see the Broncos giving up Friday nights at Suncorp

I think minus Soward and Hornby and beau Scott next year we will get the Drags on this day

                      Soward was pretty awesome yesterday.

                      Had a great game.

It's not like I wanted him to be shit.

I want him to be good.

                        But he consistently blows it.

He has honestly never stung two good matches together.

I cannot recall a game where I have thought he was the MOM. I cannot recall even doing something extraordinary.. It may have happened in 2010 the last time but have difficulties in remembering anything memorable.

I have vivid imaginings of what BJ could be but I don't recall seeing him fullfill them anytime

Soward has been wrongly robbed of a great rep career by Sticky on a personal basis. he is just so solid

Funny isn't it, up until Creagh loomed up and Weyman offloaded, I was confident our defence would hold them out.

                              Chook.
