  • Which game was more beneficial to the team?

Round 1 where we played crap against Souffs all game but won...

    or

Round 8 where we played our best all year against the team that has the wood over us but lost...

Which is more beneficial to the team?

I reckon yesterdays loss was more beneficial in some ways. The disappointing thing is losing to the Merge Scum once again on Anzac Day but it may just be an OK thing in the big scheme of things.

I snipped my answer from your quote Geo. Yesterday's loss, well, I now know how rabbitohs supporters felt after round one and I don't like it one little bit.

In 2010 the turning point was the heartbreak loss in christchurch. hopefully the effect will be the same, and after a tough, ugly match (2010 V canberra, this year it'll be against newcastle) Easts will embark on a run of quality performances

I hope you're right Comrade. I really really do though I won't be raising my expectations of this erratic team any time soon.

This question can't be answered until we see how they back up over the next few rounds.

Smithy's got some real work to do now to get their heads right after yesterdays loss,we didn't have a good run after it last year,i think it's make or break for us now for this season.

Personally I don't think yesterday's game will affect how we go for the rest of the year. We are a fringe top 8 team and will still be after yesterday. The difference is where the lost 2 points will place us. We will play many games like yesterday and many games like we did against the Storm. It was one of two games where we actually played well this year. But there are plenty of positives for the next few years that came out of yesterday's game.

As for the Souths game, Pearcey put it best when he said "we pulled that out of our arses". The only positive out of that game was we got to LOL@Souffs.

Yesterday's game reminded me of the Anzac clash last year where the boys put in and just pulled up short.

If they can repeat their efforts they will make the 8, but I feel that much like last year we cannot sustain that intensity and will fade out of the 8.

Obviously Rd 1, we got 2 points for that, give me a crap / lucky win over a heart breaking loss anyday
