I recall that in 2001 commentators were discussing the possibility of Roosters going undefeated for the entire season. That was their opinion of the strength of our roster which Sticky eventually inherited. And for the record it was Dean Pay's Dominant Tackle defensive tactic that ultimately won us the premiership.

I couldn't agree more, he is a definite keeper and needs to be locked up long term. He is super tough, getting flattened in consecutive weeks by Olakuatu and NAS but gets up, dusts himself off and takes another hit up. But he's not just tough he's skillful as well and will only get better. Whyte is progressing nicely as well.

And as for Toops, the man is a Rooster legend, and like Jaz I'm not afraid to admit I'll shed a tear when they hang up the boots.

Greatest Roosters coach ever? lol… he’s the worst coach in rugby league these days… anyone with a modicum of sense can see that

From 13 to 19 he was definitely in the top 2 coaches constantly (apart from 2016).

But got to agree that he is hardly a top 8 coach these days due to the new rule changes & his lack of ability to adapt his coaching.

He will be gone at the end of 2024 if this circus continues next year.

Yes very true... you can't argue with 3 straight minor premierships out of the gate... though Ricky went 3 straight GFs straight up I suppose... so perhaps in context one GF appearance from three minors is a little underwhelming?

Old Robbo has done very well but he also had the best player in league to begin... and the best player in league the last few years... and a whole heap of quality rep players in between

To be fair Robbo deserves some credit for that... he is for the most part a pretty good recruiter... but times have changed and we're not the Wests Tigers... Robbo could go tomorrow and the club will still attract top players going forward

There's just no excuse for what's taken place this season... not after the ignominy of last year... we were the premiership favourite before a ball was kicked

So when I see the Panthers field a reserve grade side and still beat the Knights away... or the Broncos rest half their team and still put 40 on the Dogs (and Walters is not a great coach)... there's clearly something wrong with our bloke... if that wasn't obvious after last year

Next year will be his 12th & that's a loooooong time in any sport.

It's a given that others will overtake you & the game will pass you by at some stage. Especially with these rule changes.

I don't see us winning another premiership under Robbo. He would be better to go coach the Knights, Tigers, Dragons or Dogs to reshape their struggles.

Will always love & respect his achievements with us but I believe he's reached his expiry date here.
