They weren’t his best games, but calling for his head was too much. I’d rather he gives up rep footy too cause he’s got nothing left to prove and the ingrates can whinge about others instead.
He didn't have a great series but game 3 he played a decent game, nothing special but more then enough to justify being picked.
I don't think he will retire from rep footy although it be great if he did.

Teddy looked better last night with some shape around him. His timing improved as the game progressed. He kept the QLD d on their toes with his sweep and trademark outside in runs. Walker had the ball on a string.
Neither fullback made a tackle in last nights game with Teddy missing 5 and Brimson with 2 missed tackles. Odd stat!

Is that what I’m hoping?
I really don’t care but if they win it good luck to them.

I agree that the tackle stats are weird (zero in 80 minutes + 5 missed) but IMO part of this is that RCG, Martin, Koloamatangi and Murray did their job right.
Dunno what the missed tackles were so it's really hard to read much more into them. I mean did he run 30m across field to 'miss' 5 tackles in situations where he wasn't even supposed to be marking the player? I DUNNO! However, such stats are often just an indication of who bothered attempting to chase a player down.
IMO these stats are useful for club level analysis as Teddy still got the most 'fantasy points' outta any NSW player. However, he shared the metres with To'o and wasn't doing a crap load of defence.
He's good but his status as NSW and Australian captain doesn't mean he can do EVERYTHING. I think game 3 was an example of him being effectively utilised.

Teddy looked good last night because he didn't try to do everything and the halves didn't turn the ball inside every set.
Teddy won't retire from rep football until he wins the shield or he gets a tap on the shoulder.
He has struggled to break the line this season but last night he got back to the slip sliding tackle breaking player we know.
