  • Cords for NSW coach?

    Love Boydo and everything he was about as a player but seems like a big step up if what is reported is true. It’s a pretty big job and it worries me that he is being fast tracked just to become the next scapegoat..

    Just wanted to know others thoughts and if anyone has any insight on how he is doing in his coaching role with us? Or is there anyone else out there that should be in contention for the role? Freddy’s time is done, unfortunately great players don’t always make good coaches.

    They would eat him up and spit him out right now.

    Hope he stays away as NSW are in a toxic mess right now. They need a Gus or senior coach to clean that place up.

          An absurd suggestion. Came across a very nice article. Andrew Webster has always been a massive Cordner fan and has written some tremendous pieces about him. Here's one;

                NRL Journos have become the laughing stock of the league, not the NRL or the RLPA.

                The way Rothfield can make up a story based on a feeling or Hooper can talk crap then want to scream at anyone with a different opinion is a complete joke.

                    BLUES BROTHERS DONE WITH FREDDY

                    The line being pedalled out of some Origin quarters is that there’s no real replacement if the NSW hierarchy sack coach Brad Fittler.

                    That’s not true.

                    The public line from current and former Blues players is not to disrespect Fittler by discussing his potential successor while he remains in the role.

                    The private line is they’re sick of Fittler’s left-field selections and lack of faith in players - and losing.

                    After three series defeats in four years they believe it’s time for fresh ideas.

                    There’s an appetite from some former NSW players for two-time series-winning captain Boyd Cordner to take the reins next year.

                    Cordner is highly respected among his peers and lifted the shield for NSW in 2018 and 2019. He’s currently working on the Roosters coaching staff.

                        I love Boydo but he’s not ready.

                        Fitzy would make a great origin coach. Boydo assistant maybe.

                              No Thanks to Tooves. Hasn't coached NRL since 2015. Coached Bradfield bulls in 2017 for 26% win rate.

                              Game's moved way past him.
