  • Keary's Try Assist to DCE

Cost us the match. I think he should retire at th end of the season. It has been a long time since he was consistently good.

Unfortunately I think Keary is a shot duck too many head knocks and he has lost that bit of speed he had before - also his first move is across the field instead of a straighter line of attack

He as been a great player for the club. I don't think it is out of line to call him a club legend. Sadly I think his time is up. No disrespect intended.

Keary a pure running 5/8th. Not an organiser. If you understand that point, you will know his past success does not make him a superstar, and current woes do not make him the villain either.

He would still go well with a decent halfback in the team. IMO the question is will we have the team around him that is capable of winning a premiership within the next 2-3 years? If the answer is no then I reckon he is gone end of 2024, and possibly sooner.

I think he still has something to bring to the team. Get him a lively halfback partner like Walker and some mongrel forwards who don't drop the ball or give away stupid penalties and who can get us camped in the opposition half.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

I couldn't disagree with you more doctor. He has been our best player this year behind Lindsay Collins. Manly forwards targetted him and Smith all day but they were up to the task except for one error each that did cost points. What about him setting up break for Butcher which led to try. He is still one of the quickest halves even at his age. I think what cost us the game was the refs call of forward pass when we were setting up to score. The linesman was in line and said backwards from hands which it was. Cummins overruled from bad position.

We aren't winning anything with Smith, Keary and Walker as our halves. Strong calls need to be made by the club if we truly want to contend to win a Premiership from 2024 onwards

Very lazy play from Keary on that intercept pass, disappointing effort that shouldn’t of happened..

In saying that he’s been a champion of our Club and I’m always grateful for all the success he has bought!

I think he still has something to offer as a running 5/8th next to Sammy Walker!

that was a shocker but like every good playmaker he's always had a few errors in him and he'll win us more games than he loses. he's got a contract for next year and i'd say there's no chance he won't be here next year

Walker and Keary equal unsolvable kicking problems.

We need a centre or hooker that kicks high and long if we stick with Keary and Walker imo.

We saw it again yesterday with DCE kicking 10-20 further than Keary. It nullified the advantage of having a dominant forward pack.

IMO even a long kicker elsewhere in the side is a bandaid solution. It is too difficult to defend with a small half on both sides of the field.

Turpin is a former halfback who actually has a decent kicking game we are yet to see...
