I don't disagree with that viewpoint Carlos, and sad but that will continue with our club.. My point was apart from ref "errors" or intentions we still had the cattle to overcome that disadvantage which made victory that much more sweeter. Our ability to put on 30,40 points against mediocre opposition has totally disappeared.. To regain that scoring ability against teams like Manly yesterday, and grinding the tough win against stronger opposition is entirely up to us, and would in turn take the ref bias out of the equation.

As I mentioned in a previous post and so did someone else the fact that the NRL appointed Sutton as ref but game day they served up Cummins.
I wonder if the club or players had prior knowledge of the change and if so how long before kick off.
The media commentators likely knew of the change however in the broadcast I watched they never mentioned it.
The Roosters have only won 2 of the past 11 games with Cummins as ref. !

It should be added that Klein's imaginary knock on by Toops for what should have been our first try was absolutely top shelf cheating too.

Absolutely no conclusive evidence Toops even got a finger on the ball (there was NO visible deflection) let alone knocked on. And yet he contrived a way to overturn the onfield try decision.

Must be so frustrating for the club - there's a vendetta there that's been going on for years.

Unbelievable, but believable at the same time.

1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

If we were good enough the ref wouldn't even matter. 2023 is a write off.

It was 4-0 to Manly with about 10 minutes left but that was just the set restarts and not all 6 agains that he was handing out for fun.

I thought his refereeing was awful but some of my biggest issues weren’t his penalties but his non-calls in favour of Manly they got a lot of 6 again from “errors” against our team late in the game that looked suspicious, they almost scored off a blatant interference and the non-penalty put us under pressure, there looked to be a knock on against Manly when Teddy tried to pass on their goal line and it was knocked down. As usual he was disgraceful as he has been ever since that Penrith game in 2007 but funnily enough the only time he went in our favour was the 2019 grand final.

There was a season perhaps in 2013 when our team had significant winning records with every referee except for Ben Cummins which was something like 1 win in 5 matches

When we are better they'll just up the ante. We should win more games though.

40% of our games were won or lost by 6 points or less, easy for a ref to influence the result.

I knew the weasel would screw us when early on Teddy made it out of the in-goal by about 1/2 metre & was grounded then was pushed back by a Manly second effort & the weasel did nothing & ruled a drop out.

Dont know why we didn't challenge that honestly.

Klien is just a really bad ref he's not biased against the chooks. Cummings is another kettle of fish we have a really bad winning percentage when this guy refs our games going back for years there's something not right about the win loss ratio under cummings even when we were the best side in the game.
