  • Big next two weeks

This will be season defining IMO. Both VERY winnable.
we play the Raiders at home than Manly away. Both these teams are fighting us for a fringe spot in the 8.

Beat both these teams and we should sneak in the 8 and we than have the bye to rest up and reset for the end of the season. All troops but Keary should be available after the bye too I think, so close to full strength.

I was stoked to get the win yesterday, but we need to improve a lot on that to keep the season alive.

Every week is a big week from here on in. But yes these next two before the bye are critical because they are games we should win and against opponents we are competing directly with for 8th spot.
I wonder if our Guru coach would ever consider playing Teddy at 5/8th now that Keary is gone for at least 6 weeks? or at least til Walker gets back.
Manu can obviously do the job at FB.

I'm no doctor but if its a fractured jaw I think that rules Kez out for a 6-8 weeks at least

Yeah that sounds about right. I meant all troops except Keary should be back. Rads next week, Suualli the following & then Cheese, Watson and hopefully Sammy after the bye.

Not having a go, but what do you see in teddy that would make him a good 5/8? Doesn’t kick, barely passes and has never played there before (from what I can remember)

If there was another position where teddy could play well, I think it would be centre, defends well and could beat players one on one with a bit more room.

manu might get another go at fullback this week depending on origin or if teddy needs a rest.

Canberra always trouble us and Sticky will have them primed.

Losing Sitili for a few weeks is frustrating. He was just starting to hit top gear.

I hope Robbo doesn't revert back to putting Nat Butcher in the second row. It's time Angus aimed up.

Manly will be tough at home with DCE 300th. Although recent players who are celebrating their 300th game have lost, so hopefully the trend continues.

I think Hutcho should stay at 5/8 until Walker / Keary return. He is a steadying influence on a young half.

It also means he is not playing in the centres.

We need to win the middle third against a very physical Raiders team.

                  Can't wait!!

My take is if we can play 80 minutes like we did in the 1st half then winning the next few games will be no problem. But the 2nd half we couldn’t get out of our own half and couldn’t get good field position. We need to fix that.

Good call, I agree. Looking forward to seeing Manu back at centre hopefully. I think Sandon will be happy to sling him early ball.

I think Teddy would have the same problem Manu had. He would clog up the backline, continually holding the ball for too long looking to see what he can do first, before moving it on. By then, any opportunity out wide is gone.

I have NO expectations and there's NO pressure. Expect to lose, there's NO baggage that comes with that. Anyone who is holding out will be in for a fall. Just take whatever crumbs they send your way.
