will be a relief if he's good to go. the fact that he's seeing a surgeon doesn't change the original diagnosis that he doesn't need surgery - it's just to confirm that he's good to go. still, fingers crossed ...

He is a long way off, he was limping noticeably on Saturday night. I would put his comeback at months, not weeks. A surgeon is not required to let you know if you are ready for play. You see a surgeon to see if you need surgery.

Sammy Walker was dropped so he could go and suffer a potentially season ending knee injury in reggies.

One of the all-time great coaching disasters and it's undoubtedly had a catastrophic ripple effect on our season - on the field and behind closed doors.

            I must agree.
            I don't like to, but I feel I must.
The catastrophy is all of our own making.

And then be replaced by Sandon Smith who will no doubt shine...and maybe cement himself in the position permanently.

I hope we don't see Sam again on the field this season...that he's rested until next year, so his knee can heal fully.

Oh well, such is footy life.
You'd hope Sam is not waved goodbye, only to finish up at the Broncos or Dolphins in years to come, running us ragged to defeat all the time.

I'm hate being beaten by "Easts rejects".

Sammy obviously had to learn what it was like to have a busted knee and watch his team play like arse from sideline..

                  Its all for his development.

I hope he doesn't come back until he is 110% fully recovered.
It would be horrible to see him come back early in some vain attempt to resurrect our season.
                    Only to be injured again.
I agree his dropping was an unmitigated disaster.
I want to see Robinson come out and admit he fukked up.

Robbo gave an update on Walker today during his presser said the brace came off this week and Walker will undergo a strength and function program before he will be right to play again.

Robbo also mentioned Brandon Smith gets his cast off in about 10 days and should be available in around 2-3 weeks time.

Robinson also said his return to firsts is "injury based" and that "once he's ready he'll be in".

Seems to suggest the Manu experiment is over and that once Sam Walker is ready he'll be back in Firsts.

                            Thank christ.

Although would like to see Sandon in the 17 somewhere if he kills it next couple of weeks...

If the likelihood of playing finals is done before Walker is healthy to return there is the possibility they hold him back and not risk that weakened ACL again this season.
