  • Tough times…

Midway through Origin, & what a rollercoaster ride it has been for the R,W& B!

A lot of good content/opinions on here highlighting concerns, issues, reasons, solutions as to why the Chooks are not where they are expected to be, this far into the toughest footy comp in the world… to name a few…

…coaching, training regimes, injuries, timing of injuries, positional selections, recruitment/retention, agent relationships, organisational failures within, unfair bias against us from the NRL/media sections…

All I know, as in life, the bigger the prize the harder you have to work/fight… you will have to go through the crap to get to the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

So depending on whether you are a long haul type, willing to fight the oldskool professional 21 rounders …or the quick kill amateur 3 round fight… ala marathon vs sprint… I’m sure this club will still be around & kicking on when many of us will have turned to dust. So don’t lose any sleep over the current dilemmas… things WILL turn… not sure when but they will, like they have in the past… so wishing this current bunch all the best… like you hear across many junior footy grounds over the weekends…listen to the coach, stick to the game plan, do what we do at training, play hard, play tough, play fair & have fun. Just my 20c worth.

You certainly need to be ready to fight to have any chance of winning.
But when you get sent into the ring, under prepared,
    confused about what to do,
with one hand tied behind your back,
    then you get Roosters 2023

We couldn't stay on top of Everest forever.

With players moving on, (some prematurely) the NRL and their manipulative rule changes plus the possible manufactured and legitimate rise of other teams,
Robbo and the coaching team having to reset the way they do things, (He's admitted it's a must every season) coupled with new recruits and aging stars, we have completed our descent.

How long we stay at base camp is unknown. Mini would talk about the early 2000's teams training like madmen in order to stay up the top, it can't be sustained.

Although the fullstop to that period was Fittlers retirement.

The Roosters were gaslit in the media before a ball was kicked this season with the favourites tag, blown up by a big mouth on a podcast about having the best roster.

In our hindsight we have over expected, cant blame the fans for that, but they were a team of assorted champions, not a champion team. Yet.

I'm going to enjoy our trek back to the promised land, no matter how long it takes.

        EASTS FOREVER
