I used to not mind Gould, obviously I has a soft for him due to his part in turning the club around in the 90’s and obviously delivering us the Great One in Fittler. But now his insane hypocrisy, contradictions and lies make him unbearable.

Last night he commented on the supposed Pearce signing, which I agree makes zero sense, by saying “To me Sam Walker's their future, and it's been quite obvious since he's been out they've lost all their ad lib, they've lost all their spark, they've lost their spontaneity. It's gone back into just playing point to point, it's very structured and very slow and predictable."

When a mere six weeks ago he said this about Walker being dropped for Manu:

“I can’t believe it’s taken them this long, to be honest. This is their best halves pairing,” Gould said on the Six Tackles with Gus podcast.

“That’s nothing against Walker, but at the end of the day Keary has won premierships playing in that position, and Manu they’ve got to get closer to the ball, it’s as simple as that.”

Could you be more full of shit than this guy?

Well at least he’s worked out that his previous thoughts on the Keary/Manu combination were wrong; it’s a shame Robbo hasn’t come to the same conclusion despite seven games in a row where that combination has failed.

I doubt that Gould would ever admit to being wrong, he always has to be the smartest man in the room. I think it’s more an opportunity to score points against the roosters.

As for Robinson, it seems he finally reached that conclusion with 20 minutes left in the Penrith game, sadly his solution to the problem will probably be to put Drew Hutchinson in the halves

I agree Gould will never admit to anything, but he’s smart enough to have seen the light and change his view. Everyone except Robbo saw the shortcomings in Manu’s game at 6 almost immediately. Manu was only put back to centre for that last 20 mins because Corey Allen needed to be hooked and the replacement is a half. If Allen was going OK, Manu would have stayed at 6.

Manu will probably be 1 this week due to Origin, but it will be interesting to see what Robbo does with him when Teddy is back. Robbo is a stubborn bugger, so I’m not convinced Manu won’t be back at 6.

Gould should've given up his television gigs at the same time as Ray Warren.
