He is the missing link without doubt. He can direct us around the park give us repeat sets, kick goals, play multiple positions, has big game experience and could captain the side as well. Look at all the other good sides and that’s what they have that we don’t. With all the comments on here about how we go in fixing up this mess, this is the answer. I don’t care what it costs we need him. Uncle Nick do your stuff before someone else does.
Would love to get Hunt, but we need a SHITLOAD more than a game manager.

Season is over. I'd be blooding others rather than doing a knee-jerk signing of someone who is realistically middle-tier.

I was very happy to sign a 34 year old Cooper Cronk because I knew he was a game breaker. Ben Hunt is not Cooper Cronk.

Are you sure it's not Cronk with a Ben Hunt mask on?

We would be undefeated thus far this season if Hunt was our 7 imo.

All of our problems this year stem from not having a halfback that can do the job. Our entire playing system relies on a 7 that can organise, steer the team around the park and can execute the other critical elements of a halfbacks role. Nothing works unless we have a genuine 7. This is the most important piece of the puzzle!

              That is some call.

Surely we have more problems than that.

I reckon our poor form stems from there. What are your thoughts on why our season is so poor?

Why has our season been so poor? Lack of quality in the outside backs, lack of strike on our edges, lack of quality service from dummy half. I doubt that Ben Hunt is good enougb to paper over all those cracks.

                    Just my opinion.

Pick your best team from the entire completion minus your dream half back then add a rookie who can't organise, kick long, tackle and is an average decision maker. The team full of stars would struggle imo.

From there, move your 5/8 to halfback, centre to 5/8 and winger to centre and things start to get worse. Forwards stop ripping in as they're tired of a team that resembles a train wreck. Outside backs lose interest as they don't get the ball efficiently etc. That's our season. Just my opinion.

100 % agree. Add to that a real lack of punch in the forwards (too many Butchers). Let’s not forget the Walker 7 & Keary 6 combo worked pretty well last year, so we seem to have introduced new issues that maybe compound the ones we already had (maybe positional tinkering, disharmony within the ranks, who knows?).

They would still go ok. We finished fourth with Flanno in 2020
