Yep. We have Keary and Walker anyway... don't need a Brooks and Pearce halves combo. We just need our current team to perform (which I dunno if people have been watching the Tigpies lately but...)

We've all participated in that sport.

Show us your stats. What year were you most active?

      KPI?

Exactly. Add Sandon Smith to the mix to partner Walker (replacing Kez) and I think we're in safe hands.

Smith plays that structured, game managing style of halves play (which he can do at #7) while Walker plays that instinctive, running "eyes up" footy style which he could do at #6.

I like Peace (has history with the club) but even as a utility it's a step backwards and it indirectly means we're stopping someone else from progressing and being developed. I feel bad for Connor Watson as he's most-likely stuck in a state of uncertainty if Pearce comes in next season (which I hope doesn't happen).

1976 to 1987 in Rugby League in Group 6 age groups (under 7's to Under 18's) -Group 6 reps in various age groups - also as premiers we played in Country Group round robins against the premiers in the same age group in other Country Groups and won a couple of those.

Played Harold Mathews Cup for Group 6 - that was the fiasco with Newtown who were to relocate to Campbelltown from 1984 but it fell through - Newtown said we already have a Harold Cup side so no need for any of us - So not sure how that happened but Group 6 were able to enter a side and we ended winning it.

Baseball - played junior and senior reps for NSW.

Under 16's NSW we won the national championship which entailed a trip to the US to play in a series against US/Canada/Japanese/South Korean and Philippine High school sides - 3 wins and 2 losses

We played at both Shea Stadium (NY Mets) and the old Yankee Stadium ( NY Yankees) prior to the Major League game - so we were either in the NY Mets or NY Yankees dugouts.

In the game I was the starting pitcher in whilst sitting in the dugout for our at bat -I heard someone say hey blondie - didn't know who it was - then they came into the dugout - It was Dwight Gooden NY Mets starting Pitcher or Dr K as he was called - he gave me tips on my curve ball - saying to really extend your arm more - under the giants chin and over the barrel and really snap those fingers as you'll get more purchase.

He wasn't much older than us - I think 19 or so and we where 15 or 16 - playing major league at 19 is some feat one has to say when you consider the system - rookie league / Single A / Double-A/ Triple-A and Major League.

They were really good giving out free advice and tips and were really interested in Australia and Baseball in Australia.

Even got to see Nolan Ryan pitch when he was playing for the Astros vs the Yankees - Not young then either late 30's - still could throw them at 100 mph - he was like a machine

I always remember that with fond memories

              Nice. Thanks for sharing.

My sporting highlight was winning the World Bed Race Championship in Hawaii. We beat the Santa Monica Track Club. The following year we were runners up and beaten by the Fijians.

Our team was made up of beach and track sprinters. We were sponsored by the Burbon And Beefsteak Kings cross.
