As long as Pearcey is cheap, is not within cooee of a leadership role, and is only coming from the bench, I'm ok with it.
But if we are dedicating anymore than say 250,000k to him, then I'll be quite disappointed.
On a positive, people shouldn't forget he is a decent player. Just because he was no Cronk does not make him a poor player. My issue is more the 'between the ears' stuff.

I don't see what Mitch Pearce adds to the side at this point. Reeks of desperation. So far we have signed the likes of:
- Nathan Brown - who couldn't get a run in Parra's side and took 6 weeks to get a run in our side.
- Jaxson Paulo - played a handful of games and has now been dropped to ressies and likely to leave the club
- Renouf Atoni - journeyman career Cup player who was on our books for 2+ years without playing a minute.
- Dylan Napa - hasn't played NRL for years, was awful when he last played. Hasn't had a sniff of action in firsts since returning.
- Kevin Naiqama - say no more.
- Corey Allan - say no more.
You would struggle to find a worse list of recruitments in recent years so the Pearce rumor fills me with no confidence. Especially at 34 and he left his last club in disgrace and out of form for rooting the physio's missus or whatever it was. And Robbo freely admits he is solely in charge of the recruitment... yikes.
Let's add in the fact we have the walking liability Victor Radley signed to a ridiculously long contract despite him missing half the season with suspension and we allowed a teenage mercenary who is underperforming to enable a year extension but walk away from us for Union.
Our shiny mystique has worn off in the past year or so.Last edited by HunchoRooster; 06-11-2023, 05:51 PM.
