  • BJ Outside SKD

I know a large number of you haven't been impressed with BJ's form this season and a lot of you believe he isn't an outside back. The problem here, Brian Smith does. So why not move him back to where he's had most of his outside back success in the past and put him on the wing outside SKD? From what I can remember they developed a fairly good combo at times last year and BJ was a proven finisher close to the line when SKD got him some room. It would also make our right edge deadly in the air.

Then with the left have a combination of Perret and Tagive (until Moga debuts) and allow them to switch between wing and centre. Perret playing the majority on the wing until we're close to our line and the high ball threat is there switch Tagive out (much the same as they do with Carney and BJ combo).

Our left side atm isn't able to be the attacking force we need it to be, so why not strengthen our right hand side as much as we can and then just use the left for a long spread in attack against a (hopefully) compressed defensive line.

I don't like BJ on the wing. He has no pace (not that that seems to be an issue at our club).
Criteria at our club for wingers is 5 feet tall and slow!
I reckon backrow or centre for BJ.
He is too slow to turn as a winger. Remember that semi v Gold Coast.
Anyway is he going to Tigers next year or not? Another thread recently seemed to suggest that was a certainlty. If so, then send him to Henson.

The only place BJ should be going is to the boulangerie for another pastry.

He can't catch, can't run and can barely tackle.

He is as big a disappointment as I've ever seen come through the ranks.

I had high hopes for him.

Yeah, a lot of truth in that. Unfortunately he really reminds me of soliola, where he is stuck between being a centre and a backrower. I do disagree with the can't catch part because he is probably our beast at leaping for the high ball. Probably him and Kenny-dowall. I reckon that's one of the reasons the stubborn mind has stuck with him in the back line for so long.

A Cameraman Joe Previtera moment Bansai. Or will you blame it on Shane Warne.

              Joseph Leilua as Scott Muller.

Need to get him as far away from the touchline as possible. He has absolutely no awareness at all.

Personally I'd put him in Reserve grade for the majority of this season (in the backrow). Tell him to work on his tight runs, offloading, get used to making more tackles and work on his ability to read attack. After he puts a few good games together give him a taste of first grade again and see if he can hold his position.

                  He can't catch passes.

                  Spills way too much pill.

Yeah from Anasta's passing. Had he been running onto Carney or even Pearce passes which are not near his bootlaces he would had held onto a few more.

I reckon BJ is right on the edge of a major surge in form..

If he was getting even half decent service he would already be there..

I feel we are about to see what all the "Experts" see in the kid..He was one of our better performers last week..

I'd rather see SKD right outside the stadium fence. When is this dud going to learn to tackle and not create overlaps for the opposition.

He is one of a few players who actually has spark and can break a tackle, yet he still gets criticised.

He has played pretty good in the centres and will be better in the backrow. How was Maubs at his age?

It would be silly to lose him now.

You will find that Smith won't persist with him too much longer given that he has already signed with the Tigers. I think it's a shame as I think he will develop into a really good centre. Tigers gain is our loss. Hopefully Moga can fill the void.
