Sheens wanted Anasta for Roos after 2010 heroics

    INSIDE BACK

Wests Tigers' signing of Braith Anasta was a long time in the making. Coach Tim Sheens has been a big fan of Anasta for years and sources at Concord suggest the Kangaroos coach battled unsuccessfully to have the former NSW Origin five-eighth included in his 2010 national side after inspiring Sydney Roosters to the grand final. There was no shortage of suitors for the five-eighth and while the Roosters have suggested he could have played himself into a new contract this year, the 30-year-old has been on the outer for a number of years. In fact, had it not been for his stellar season in 2010 he could have found himself at the Tigers or elsewhere last season and likely with a larger pay packet and more club support. And while Anasta holds the club close to his heart, it's understood those close to him wish he'd made the move then. But news of the Roosters' unwillingness to commit to another contract at the start of this season came as music to Sheens's ears. The ever-calm Anasta is considered the cool-headed influence needed to get the best out of Benji Marshall and Robbie Farah.

      Thanks, backwards....NOT!
A gloomy rainy day only made worse by the thought that we could have been rid of him MUCH MUCH earlier

and who would he have replaced?
          What position?
This smells like Willet and the Anasta Co PTY residue from contract negotiations.

Of course Sheens is going to blow smoke up his tookhas after he has signed him.
Speaking of Sheens, he is one of the games biggest underachievers. I know he's won premierships, but with the teams he's had he should have won more. Reminds me of another coach we all know......

More proof that Tim Sheens has lost whatever sanity that he had.

Imagine if Sheens was coaching here with his recruitment and retention decisions. There would be burning effigies of him at each home game.

                        Chook.

I'm surprised that isn't happening with Brian. I've eyed the petrol can in the garage a few times.

I'm sure the other clubs fans are saying the same thing about 1 B Smith.

Setting yourself on fire might not be the best way to get a message to Brian my sweet. Now setting Braith on fire...

                              Chook.
