  • My Origin Team...

Well time has come to start thinking about Origin. Here is my NSW side...what are your thoughts on who should be in the team???

1 Jarrod Hayne (he is a freakish athlete, may be in poor form but he is a proven origin winner)
2 Brett Morris (easy choice at wing, current form almost warrant him the fullback position)
3 Michael Jennings (played well in the game time he has last series, elusive and can find his way to the line)
4 Chris Lawrence/Matt King/Josh Morris (unsure who should play here)
5 Akuila Uate (easy choice, runs at the line hard and troubled the QLDers last year)
6 Todd Carney (as much as some ppl here hate him he is a freak and is the form 5-8, hope he rekindles his partnership with pearce)
7 Mitchell Pearce (although not in his best form I cant see anyone else playing 7, will be good with Carney beside him)
8 Paul Gallen (we have more backrowers than frontrowers, thats why he is here, plus Stuart will play him here)
9 Danny Buderus/Michael Ennis (Buderus has been there before, Ennis gives some good mongrel...could be either)
10 Michael Weyman (traditional prop who will run the ball hard at the line and get some good metres)
11 Greg Bird (proven origin player, has some mongrel in him and always performs at the top level)
12 Anthony Watmough (always a safe player to put in your starting lineup)
13 Luke Lewis (easy choice, he was excellent yesterday against the tigers)

    Interchange:
14 James Tamou (havent seen much of him, but if he is good enough to play for Aus then he should play origin)
15 Beau Scott (versatlile, can come in as a forward but if we have a back injured he can play in the centres)
16 Feleti Mateo (super form for the warriors, would be great to have in the side)
17 Utlity Back - who is there? Is Gidley fit? Maybe Ennis of Buderus gets the 9...cant really see anyone who stands out

He's been in anything but super form for the Warriors, but at top form I reckon both him and Tony Williams should be in the team and would create havoc.

That forward pack is way too small

agree with most of your selections, but imo...

hayne has not been in "poor" form by any measure, his team has been crap but he has been playing well in almost every game this year...nothing near career best form but he isn't in a form slump by any means- the fittest and in-form fullback nsw have available so its a no brainer.

            4. j. morris (in better form than any other contender for this spot)
15.t.williams (if he passes the fitness test in a few weeks time- hasn't had game time for ages- if fit is a must on the bench) if not fit then tariq sims
            16. merrin/gibbs/lahrs (extra size, there will likely be 2 props on the bench this year so it'd be one of these three i reckon)

17.ofcourse some one like beau scott that can be cover for a few different positions

Jarryd Hayne i dont think so!!!!!
Also Lawrence is out of form so the best choice would be Josh Morris
Also you could put in Storm Ryan Hinchcliffe he's a good consistent utility
Shaun Fensom is also a good option I would definitely put in interchange instead of Beau Scott who did bad in origin
              Replace Watmough with Stewart.

again...i don;t see where all this hayne hate is coming from but anyways...
totally forgot about hinchcliffe- a player to watch for the future
i believe fensom is injured, will not feature in rep games this year unfortunately
                  g. stewart is also injured might be fit just in time for game 1, but i'd rather a 100% watmough with nrl and kangaroo game time under his belt than a stewart that's just come back form injury with maybe 1 or 2 nrl game sunder his belt (if any)
