Hutch would be on the marquee allowance in any case so would not effect Watson’s re-signing.

IMO we now have a wealth of players that can cover lock forward which has reduced Watson's importance to the side. I'd be prioritising Turpin over Watson.

Played pretty well last year. Obviously this injury has hampered his chances but if he goes well the rest of this season is sign him.

I know Hutch has been a good stop gap for us over the years but surely you wouldn’t have Hutch over Watson if you had the choice.

Not sure when he’s back but hopefully in enough time to prove he deserves a chance.
Hutch covers halves and Watson forwards. Both are less effective but capable of playing hooker and I’d never like to either again in the outside backs.

I don’t think the Cheese will ever be able to perform for 80 mins. Bellamy knew this. Watson would be good value for around $300k. His energy off the bench would be handy. I also think he’s service from dummy half is better than The Cheese.

Hutch, Billy Smith and Paolo need to go imo

              Hard one
injuries have crueled Watson, I would love to keep him but he struggles to stay on the field
the chooks im sure would love to keep him but won’t left a big player go to keep him, $500k is abit if money

would have to say one of the best number 14 utility players, you don’t know what you have till he’s gone

alot of players on the chookpen didn’t want him early in the season until they realised how bad huthch was and although Turpin had been good he is a 9 only

Watson value as a utility is huge and was a big reason we kicked on end of last year
can give rads and smith 15 min off each and be on as an extra forward end of each half with which running

What would some on here post about though if the Mercurial Hutchinator was to leave as he lives in their heads 24/7 rent free.

That space/void would be hard to fill one would say - it's quite cavernous as it is

Just in case they are getting itchy fingers and are missing the Mercurial Hutchinator playing - here he is with some wise words

Why does no one EVER like your posts???

I think if you asked every player their thoughts, the same cookie-cutter statement would be made.

Churchill he ain't, a first grader he ain't.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

What experience or knowledge do you have to judge if someone is an NRL player or not - None of course

68 NRL games with 64 for the Roosters says that the Hutchinator is an NRL player

I think people forget just how good Watson was at the back end of last year, he and Egan Butcher off the bench played a big role in our run home.

He’s not a utility though, he’s a lock forward who can provide in-game utility value.

I would be re-signing him if we can.

I love Connor Watsons energy off the bench but still think he doesn't quite know how to stick to a structure, whether or not that fits into what the coach wants who knows

I daresay I have as much, if not more, than you.

in the age of the salary cap it's all about value for money. of the three contenders for the 14 spot i'd place watto above turps and turps above hutch but you've got to factor what they're asking for. watto was great at the back end of last year and if we can keep him for a good price then i woudn't complain

Really liked him when TiT brought him in as a prop against tiring big men - one of his better ideas (not like playing Toops off the bench in the finals).
