As frustrating as he was at times, he was always one of my favourites. I always thought he would end up with the Roosters try scoring record, but I’m glad it will be Toups who beats Mini.
I still feel rage the way he was treated after that...have to be sensitive or Stan Grant will have a whinge...woman lied about him and then he was hung out to dry by the NRL. They're just lucky he didn't neck himself or they wouldn't be able to bullshit their way out of a dead footballer like they have with Jordan Tandy, Paul Green and Chad Robinson and their wonderful Men of League charity.
SKD was a rooster through and through and should never have had to play for the Knoughts. I think as most people have already mentioned the highlights for me were that intercept try against the Tigers and playing the GF with a broken jaw. The lowlight was definitely that final against the broncos with the shocking intercept pass. Enjoy your retirement Skidsy and thanks for entertaining (and at times frustrating) me over the years.
His Tigers try in the semi was great his whole season that year was his best..His 2013 Grand Final try was awesom..as Mini had the ball and you could see Kenny looming up my mate turened around and said here comes your mate ..laughing I sat back relaxed didnt get excited thought for sure he was gonna drop it..but the man delivered and good on him.... I sculled 4 bears after that ..hang on they go on about players who are badly injured in grand finals ..didnt he break his jaw around the 5th minute? ...they never mention him.
The tigers semi was the greatest east game I ever seen
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

The media in this country, especially in sports media, is an incestuous boys club.
The amount of Sattler and Burgarse commentary and folklore regarding Grand Final day injuries is nauseating when SKD sadly NEVER get's even a hint of a mention.
SKD just unfortunately doesn't have the right mates.
Think i'm wrong? Look at people like Tallis and Blocker. How on earth do people like that get sports analyst gigs on television? The right mates is the answer.

Not only that but he was marking Steve Matai who at the time was one of the most intimidating centres in the game and aside from that early try he scored in the GF, SKD did a great job of shutting him down.
And I had harboured dreams of him coming back to take over our useless Number 3 who’s completely disinterested. I’d take a 40 year old SKD over that imposter of a “football” player.
Great clubman. I saw him at Bondi Westfields ln a Roosters tee a last year. Asked him if he's still a Rooster even after everything that happened and playing for the knaughts, and his response was "I'll always be a Rooster!" That made me proud to support this club. After everything former players still love our club.
He didn't deserve to go out the way he did but his got his premiership ring, and he is the owner of probably the greatest finals try (2010 vs tigpies) in history.

SKD had a style all of his own. He was big, strong and fast. He could swerve at pace, he seemed terribly hard to tackle and he sure knew his way to the line. We were lucky to have him. And that try against the Tigers? It's why my moniker on here is Intercept! Enjoy your retirement, Roosters legend!
I saw him in the mall here at the Gong about two years ago. I said "SKD what are you doing here?". He goes "Not much what are you doing here?" and I reply "I live here mate!". He surreptitiously left the conversation. Very awkward to say the least.
There is a moral to this story but one that has obviously completely passed you by
Might want to have a good think about that before you light the next one up
