SFS opened in 1988. Roosters opened it playing St George and they lost 14-24.
Roosters played most of their home games at Henson in 1987 besides two at Parramatta Staduim and one at the SCG.

I've been lucky to have attended some phenomenal Roosters wins (and draws) over the years and the two obvious ones that stand out are the Wests Tigers semi final in 2010 and the 2013 semi final vs Manly that finished 4-0.

The Manly semi final was incredibly nerve racking and I spent the entire night literally on the edge of my seat as the entire team put in arguably the greatest defensive display I have ever seen from this club. I have never seen a full replay of the match so my memory could be wrong but I seem to recall so many last ditch efforts to stop half breaks from Manly and try savers in the corner.

In the 2010 semi final our defensive efforts to start the game gets overlooked for the chaotic ending but the Tigers started pretty hot and we held them up over the try line a few times early on which was crucial and when they finally did cross the line it got taken off them because Benji punched Mitchell Pearce. With Todd Carney in the team I always felt confident there would be some come back late in the game but even I couldn't predict the way it ended.

Two games I didn't attend but are great wins were the 2000 preliminary final which I watched as a young teen and went crazy for the Freddy intercept and then of course the preliminary final in 2018 against the Vermin which was the most nervous I have ever been for a match it got a bit unbearable at times.

In 2010 there was a 5 game winning streak that were all great wins after going WLWL for most of the season:

First win was down in Canberra, Carney's first match back in Canberra and he gets the intercept try early in the game. We get our first penalty after an hour and Brian Smith was banging on the coaches box yelling out FINALLY

Second win was Mitchell Aubusson's late winner against the Vermin where Freddy gave them the thumbs down in the pre-game segment. This might have been the game

Third win was another late Mitchell Aubusson winner against the Bulldogs on a sunday afternoon.

Fourth win was the epic match against the Broncos where we blew a big lead late in the game only for SKD to score his 4th try and take back the lead for the win

Fifth win was blowing Parramatta away on their own ground to catapult the team towards the top of the ladder. I am pretty sure that we scored more tries in this 5 game winning streak than we received penalties, we got caned by the refs that year. We got out first penalty in the grand final after about 70 minutes when the game was over too

I was convinced we could win the comp after the Parra game but all the air got sucked out of the balloon in front of 40k at the SCG a week later when we lost to the Dragons. Jason Ryles dropping the ball off the kick off right after we got back in to the game with a try and the Dragons fans booing Kane Linnett as he got stretchered off in front of the Dragons Army. This was the game that Mose Masoe went on a rampage and smashed the Dragons himself but we weren't in their class that season unfortunately.

Brilliant post and some great memories for many of so well articulated by you. That 2010 year was great and I spent a lot of time attending those games too with quite a few people from here. I walked home from that SCG game and I remember Mose winning all the Brute big hits on the Sunday Footy Show the following week.

                    Lovely tribute to him here
