  • A Good news Story

Went down to the south sydney primary schools knock out on Friday.
My wife asked me to help out with the South Coogee PS teams.

The junior team (U10s) went well, a reasonable expectation of winning and they did. They didn't have it easy but played well and now go on to the State PS knock out.

I didn't help out with the juniors but spent a little bit of time with the senior team,(u12s). There were not a big team at all, but each of them could tackle pretty well. They got themselves into the final against a massive Mascot PS team.

I think the boys were scared witless to say the least, they thought they had no chance, but we convinced them they could do it and at least make an effort to tackle the big kids.

In a herculian effort these kids took up the challenge and not alot of people believed what happened when they not only took on the monsters from Mascot but beat them 3 tries to 1.

They are onto the State knock out too, how well they do, I don't know but this was such a great game by a bunch of kids with huge hearts.

Good to hear that a bit of confidence and skill will overcome size and brawn.
