It was caused by another non-refereeing performance by Archer. Before the Rose incident there were a couple spear tackles and other cheap shots by Manly that went unpenalised. I made a comment to a friend that Archer was losing control of the game and it wouldn't surprise me if a player would end up getting sent off.
