  • OT The Dragons

They are the least convincing premiership favourites I have seen in a longtime ..... Last 3 weeks their games could have gone the other way ...

Dragons 15 - 6 and dogs blow a certain try

Dragons 2 nil Souths blow numerous chances fair enough great defence

this week we had alot of chances tackled in opposition 20 more than 20 times and had 60% possesion in first half and scored zip

They just sh*t me ... They have good defence but if any other team pulls their game together attack and defence the Dragons will be shown to b nothing more than a solid NRL team that does the basics well

I just hope ANY other team pick up their act this year because the merge arent deserving to be remembered as a team that went back to back

It's that bland compressed defense that does it for the Dragons, they are a brick wall and if we had had a decent halves pair (I.E. Friend/T.C.) then we could have spun it wide and caught them out.

They've hardly been beaten in 3 years! No, they're not a good side at all....

Considering they are at full strength for the past 2 weeks..

Things could go awry if they get a few injuries.

We were missing 3 regulars on Monday.

They actually got undone pretty easily on that left side twice by Anasta, through Graham's hands to Carney. Carney just dropped one of them. The plays weren't even that difficult, just good quick hands and fast passing to get each man on the outside of their opposite.

If we had of added some grubbers or different kicks going that way instead of a squillion bombs (or at least had Graham competing in the jump on the bombs instead of 4 foot tall Carney) they could have potentially leaked some more.

Check out how they go against the Broncos when you have Lockyer and some slick outside backs doing similar things, that should give a decent idea of where the Dragons are really at this year.

i think what you will find with all teams playing the dragons is that they will step up big time each week to beat the premiers. We did it yesterday but still wasnt good enough. I still think there attacked is a work in progress and they are winning games due to their defence. We can only dream to play like them at the moment. The thing with them is their consistency week in week out. Thats what makes them so good. They really work for each other.

They always make you beat them with their defence. Unlike some teams, they never just fail to turn up. On the way they scrape together some points which is often good enough.

We had enough ball and chances to win on Monday and didn't execute.

The overall standard of the competition is low, (although slightly higher than last season IMO) so a team doesn't need to be all that special (it's mainly a good attitude which the Dragons have in spades) to get the right results.

It would be at it's lowest if souths and cronulla were leading it !!!!

                            A little off topic..

It has been well documented that Bennett was not happy to lose BJ Leilua to us..

                            So, hypothetically...

If BJ was still at St.George - Would he make first-grade..??

How would Bennett have used BJ..??

The simplest way to beat the Dragons is to get mean and bash them for 80 mins. The nulla did it and we showed glimpses of that on Monday with their error rate in the first half, but as usual we trailed off in intensity and allowed them to get their heads in front.

You will not go around the Dragons as they slide better than any other team in the comp, you have to go straight through them and that means bashing them into submission.

                              Chook.
