That twit will use any excuse to have a go at this club. This morning he was spazzing about a the sharks/roosters game being televised over the panthers/tigers game and calling it blatant bias blah blah blah blah.

RE Dugan I'm actually glad. I know he's a gun and all but I don't feel right about having two of Canberra's up and coming massive stars (and Graham). Carney was dropped and fair game but just doesn't feel right with Dugan. Especially when they're struggling. It'd be like the bulldogs all over again (albiet better merchandise)

agree as much as I hate furner and some of the canberra fans reaction to us I would feel guilty us taking him (and paying massive overs to do so)

Nothing simple about it, because we don't know thet facts of the arrangement.

How often do so-called marquee players sign one year contracts? Almost never. The only players who sign 1 year contracts are veterans (Fitzgibbon) or journeymen.

        Dugan is neither.

To sign a one year deal sounds to me like he has an arrangement elsewhere, but not until 2013 when either the salary cap is sufficiently increased to accommodate him, or the club in question thinks it will be in a better position with regards the their current salary cap situation. There could also be other personal reasons why Dugan doesn't want to move to Sydney until 2013.

Whatever the case, it's a pretty good sign - I believe - that he won't be in Canberra in 2013.

I wasn't aware of that. Which other players have signed one year contracts?

Yeah, with older players who are nearing the end of their careers. It's very, very unusual for an up and comer to do such a deal ... highly unusual.

If our club's future recruitment planning includes a player who is now going to be off contract at the end of 2012 then they are off their heads...

A tad disappointing, but I hold a lot of hope for Towers. And at the end of the day, even if we had signed him for 2012 onwards, anything could happen next year, including injury, loss of form etc. Faders supporters need to stop acting like they've won ww2though, if he was so loyal, he wouldn't teased them for so long or only signed for one year...

Who cares about Dugan. Yeh it would of been nice to have him but he was only available for 2012. What were we going to do, sign someone 2 years in advance? To me that is stupid.

We are playing well now and will only get better next season.

Towers will not be anywhere near 1st grade this season unless there are massive injuries. We are playing well at the moment.
