LOL, Mr Moore Park himself, maybe he was on the hunt for some special Nepalese massage.

Someone Needs to google some of the old SL propaganda, would add some balance to their current line of "everyone else is greedy in RL except News of course".

      You know it makes sense.

A mate of mine playing for Bondi United played against him when he played for Moore Park. Said he was a handful.

Yeah my brother played against him, ironically for United also.

Another one we let slip, I guess. Youd think Moore Park MUST be an Easts junior side.

I personally don't mind if they get paid good money for the work they do. I think most people are naturally jelous of the money they earn compared to the average Joe, and it is tall poppy at it's best.

They provide the best product in this land, yet are paid less than what the top earners can get in Yawnion and tunnel ball.
yeh i feel for the little darlings they get more than the average australian for about 15 hours of work a week They get paid what is being afforded to them if they dont like it then **** off to afl or get a real ****ing job for quarter of the pay

Its whinging and whining to the extreme.
Someone like Petro comes out and says lets look after the guys on the bottom of the range, thats sensible talk.

Hayne is just being a self centred prick.

They should not lift the cap, just adjust it to look after the lower end of the salaries. The higher ones earn too much as it is. On the real scale of things, no matter how good RL is not that many people watch RL compared to other sports union included. Its just not a global game.

                Damn straight I am.

But Hayne has it better than me. I have it better than someone else. Someone else has it better than the homeless guy sleeping under the newspaper in the city.

Footy players have it ten times easier than what they used to and they get paid damn good money to be a professional football player.

                It's greediness at it's best.

Rubbish article by a rubbish person.

Rebuttal needn't be more than one sentence: Nobody gives a flying **** about rowing.

When hundreds of thousands of people pay good money to watch whatsisface's rowing race, then maybe they can compare wages.

Adam its not about the sports its about the different person's attitude to their own situation.

That's what she's trying to write an article about, but her entire comparison between rowing and NRL is ridiculous.

We have a supply-and-demand, monopoly-of-the-market based capitalist system. If people wanted to watch rowing for hours on end every weekend, rowers would be paid a shitload of money. But they don't.

To use an incredibly simple example, let's take food at the SFS. Because people want a pie with their footy, they can charge $40 a pie, because there is nowhere else to go. People could bring in sandwiches before the game, but they don't, because they want their ****ing pies!

There's no reason NRL, which has better revenue than Union and AFL (I think?), shouldn't pay their players as much as other codes. Hayne earns them a motherload of money each year, and should be paid accordingly. It's all very noble of us to go up in arms about the privilege of playing for Australia, but the reality is, the society we live in has little room for honour.

i dont think nrl has greater revenue than afl or rugby union i have heard people in the media say this is why rugby league doesnt offer higher money because they cant afford it where afl and rugby union can because they make more money

I think so too but that is because it was poorly written.
