IF you have anything to do with the NRL you should feel very proud today. Whether you support Manly, whether you are a fan or sponsor of the Bulldogs, even if you are a mildly keen Victorian who keeps an eye on Melbourne Storm's fortunes.

I was wondering what Fat Pat would have to say about all this. Interesting he's in full praise of the NRL.

    Chook.

    A good article.

Everyone is claiming the sky is falling, but this has been a courageous step by Gallop. Like most, I always thought Melbourne were dodgy having 3 out of the 4 best players in the land in their ranks. I always thought Gallop was aware of this - how could he not be?

This step shows that he is not only up for setting the rules, but also policing them.

If this punishment doesn't send a message to all clubs that the NRL is serious about the Salary Cap then nothing will.

True, which makes it so hard to agree with him on this. But I also applaud Gallop and the NRL for the stance they have taken on this .

Dimetriou wouldn't have the balls to do the same in the GayFL.

              Very very true.

Overall I'm not a huge fan of Gallop (too slow to take a punt, too conservative) but he is certainly a man of conviction.
