  • Cowboys get the rough end of the pineapple

The poor bastards were absolutely stitched up royally tonight. The vidiot hated them.

No one can make calls like those even by mistake. Anyone who says theres no agendas in league are kidding themselves.

Video ref = Steve Clark. Unbelievable incompetence... or following instructions.

I wonder what our Cowboy stalker friend on the Chookpen will have to say about this. If I remember correctly, he scoffed at suggestions that any team would be given preferential treatment by the refs.

Flash back to 2nd half of 2010 GF. One replay clearly, without even 1% of doubt , shows Dean Young knocks ball on into Easts player, he regathers and the line is crossed. This replay was all that was needed to disallow the try. Instead, this angle is carefully discarded and an "inconclusive" angle is shown repeatedly before a BOD try is awarded. The die is cast and, together with half a dozen other appalling officiating travesties, that decision suffocated the roosters out of contention.

That Foran knock on was worse than the Dean Young no try, as all of the replay angles showed clearly, beyond any doubt whatsoever, that Foran knocked the ball on. This time, after a couple of replays showing the clearest knock on you will ever see, Steve Clark (one of the longest serving and most consistent cheats both on and off the field in the vidiot box, and therefore a reliable servant of the NRL who is rewarded for his lack of impartiality with otherwise inexplicable continued employment in a position that demands by its definition integrity that he doesn't approach possesion of) transparently ignored all the relevant replays. Farcically, he had several looks at the grounding before awarding the worst ever no try as a try.

I don't even claim to begin to know what agenda he is following. But there is no way that decision was simply incompetence. Steve Clark is a piece of shit but no way is he that stupid. I would say on the balance of probability betting is involved. I cannot think of a more plausible explanation for that embarrassing travesty than greed, gambling and or blackmail.

a cynical person , unlike ourselves, might speculate that the nrl wanted a manly dogs grand final? 2 Sydney teams means big crowd, manly again against they're old coach, great drama! but then orchestrating that would be illegal wouldn't it? especially considering all the money now bet on rugby league games!

Isn't a double movement when without momentum the ball is grounded before the line and it's promoted over the line???

I can't see how that try is possibly double movement??? Half his body rolls over the line cos the momentum from the tackle takes him that way.

In fact looking at the slow mo replays side on there can be an argument that the point of ball crosses the line well before momentum rolls him over the line anyway.

I thought it was one of the clearest BOD tries I've ever seen, that's the exact reason the rule exists IMO, When you can't prove he didn't score.

Did you not notice the strip and forward pass that led to the Cowplods try mate??? Even the commentators saw that clanger, all the players saw it as did the fans on replay. In fact only the touchie, who had a good view, missed them both.

What I don't understand in the Tafua (double movement) try, the key determining factor in that try was 'momentum'. Not once did we see a replay at normal speed, which is the true determinant of whether it was a double movement or not !

Ten replays in slow motion, is only showing part of the picture !

Agreed mate. IMO all vidiot replays should include a final one in normal speed.

That said I think the fact he was tackled by two players he'd beaten who were themselves headed towards their own try line as they dived to make the tackle means it's basically inevitable they would've ended up over the line, as they did. I guess it never really occurred to me it was a double movement, irrespective what the commentators said.

But I agree a quick look in Normal speed, especially for double movements, should be a rule for vidiots.

So the Cowboys got robbed of a win by bad reffing (on the ground and in the box) well, we did all year. So to the Cowboys, I have only one thing to say "Suck it up" ....... we had to.

The cowboys cop a couple of shocking decisions & its if the world's going to end. We've been getting shafted for years.

I see touch judge Jeff Younis (he of the Brett Morris fame) has been sacked also for missing a strip on Manly. He dead set must have his eyes painted on. That bloke shouldn't be any near a football field. Hope he isn't relegated to 20s. But he will probably have the week off & be back for the first grade GF next week!

                            Where's Cowboymad??

Gee, it's not like they lost a grand final because of someone's foot going into touch now is it? And those Cowboys players who are also Maroons can go console themselves with their dubious Origin win.
