I havnt surfed since I took up snowboarding over 30 years ago.

Today however I pulled out the old Traxxas ERevo 2.0 and of course bashed it to death. Am thinking of getting a new Traxxas Sledge.

How incredible are these battery powered RCs these days!

fella at work is into them big time, so I bought a cheaper one, then bought a bit more pricey one, the second car i charged up, put it on the concrete driveway and accelerated….. straight into the brick wall bent two steering pins and destroyed front bumper.

too much power for a novice, so changed the battery to a 3s from a 4s? Still learning, but that made it a lot more drivable.

good fun. I take it to work some Saturdays where I have a massive empty floor covered in MDF, set up a few jumps and drift away!

I bought an Xmaxx a few years back. That thing was powerful! 6s power rocks. If you want to experience true RC power, get one of those bastards.

Ive currently got 2 Rustler VXL 4x4s and an ERevo 2.0. They are all super quick with each of them getting close to 100kmh after upgrades but boy to they get a flogging and require a fair bit of expensive repairs from time to time. I used to do all the maintenance and repairs myself but these days I couldn’t be arsed so I just send them to the hobby shop to do it all for me. They fix em, I break em!

The new Sledge looks like a very durable car and considering it can get around 110kmh out of the box with the optional spur gear, could be a lot of fun.

Unreal, what scale is the sledge? Mine are just babies at 1/16.

Remember the old RC track in kambah near the indoor center? We would race our bmx’s around the track after school, on Sundays they would have the race day with the petrol RC cars.

If you don’t already watch, the Kevin Talbot YouTube reviews are pretty hectic.

BTW, is there a specific hobby shop you recommend in Canberra?

Talbot is a lunatic. He has wrecked more RC cars than Traxxas and Arrma have ever made!

My eRevo is officially a 1/10 scale but anyone who’s had them knows they are closer to 1/8. My Xmaxx was a 1/5. That thing was huge! Weighed a tonne as well and would probably take your leg off if it ran into at full speed.

I go to Supertoys and Hobbies in Fyshwick. I never buy a car there but get all my repairs done there. You can buy much cheaper online. They do have the most awesome looking Sledge on display there right now though.

Only if it’s played in Thailand.

I’ve gone through a few of these phases, we played doubles every Wednesday night, so much so I bought my own table, and a robot that you load up with 100balls and it fires them
at you at different speeds and spin.

                              1/5, that’s awesome.
